ive gone straight to fo rather than bank who are going to write to lloyds tsb to get them to look into it - hubby took out loan 4 years ago and theres still 3 years to go, i was originally told i couldnt cancel as i tried to cancel after 30 days, but we have protection from another company so i believe i was missold - anyone know what my chances will be, and if its ok to have done it this way. I suffer from bipolar and cant face loads of letters going to and from bank0

I agree - I am also under the impression that you have to give the bank sufficient time (8 weeks) to look into your complaint and try to resolve it - the FO will just say that you haven't given the bank the chance to rectify the situation.LTSB PPI - £770 ish for dad

Me against Barclays, 1st letter sent to them on 8 May - they received 9 may - letter from them dated 15 may saying they are looking into it and should receive an answer or update by 9 jun 08. 2nd letter from them dated 3 jun saying they are still looking into it but will contact me again by 7 jul. 3rd letter from them dated 3 jul stating " We would like to update you on your complaint; we are currently not in a position to provide you with a full response. We aim to do so as soon as possible. As a full response has taken a little longer than expected you do have the option to ask the Financial Ombudsman service to review your complaint, if you so wish, which explains how you can refer to them, although we very much hope to be able to resolve your complaint without the need for you to do this. We are sorry for the delay and any inconvenience this has caused. If you would like to discuss this further, please call us on 0845 609 0806",
any ideas why it is taking them so long? they will have had 11 weeks on Fri, should I write them another letter, or call them, has anybody else had this - is it just delay tactics? more tonight on dads but got to go back to work now - but will monitor responses from work - may even get to chat a bit who knows!0 -

well i phoned the fo for advise and they said they can do a letter on my behalf which gives the bank 8 weeks to reply to me, and then they will get involved properly - i guess their draft letter will be as good as any i can do - hopefully!0

Hi hun.
Just to say good luck.;)
Its a good idea if you have not much time and if the FOS have offered then take them up on their offer.
Even though I have never asked the FOS to do this for me before I was wondering what the procedures would be for doing this, I know they give the banks 8 weeks but wonder if there is a queing system for the people who want help with their letters...... , it was just a thought, but let us know how you get on anyway, if done quickly then I'm sure others may take the idea up of using the FOS for their letter help etc.
So obviously you would have to give your reasons to the FOS in order for these to do the complaint letter for you ?
Again good luck !

take your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman (complaint form from their website), send the bank a copy as 'a courtesy'

Tiggrae, I know your real busy helping everyone on here hun, but just wanted a bit of advice when you ready please.;)
I have more or less done a draft letter to send to Endeavour for the unfair rebate, as you know the FOS will not look at this because they were not regulated then, and I know I have gone on about this for a little while, but the way its going 'Click' the directors the brokers of Endeavour are not going to budge and take any responsibilty as mentioned on my last post due to them gone into liquidation, yet these directors are still running active into other Click groups.
Shall I just move on to Endeavour now do you think about the unfair rebate ?, and as i can see them denying this again on the unfair rebate, although not under jurisdiction have I a right to move this complaint to the FOS ?
Sorry for going on, I just need to be completely certain.
I have had the calculations worked out for me by another member on here.;)
I feel like I'm not going to get anywhere at all with Click, and feel the need to now get moving with Endeavour but as you know it will not be regarding the mis selling but only the unfair rebate settlement.;)
Thx hun I really appreciate it very much.

Just phoned them and they can't give me a date of when i can expect to hear from them!! I reminded them that it is coming up to the 11 weeks point and she said that as per the last letter - I am now eligible to take my complaint to the FOS. Have you heard of this happening before ? are they setting me up for a fall or something? MColak also worked out that I had had an unfair rebate when i paid the loan off - do i need to send another letter about this or will it all be picked up in the investigation? should I also mention this on my form to the FOS?
I am gonna try and phone the FOS tomorrow and explain everything to them - hopefully they will give barclays a kick up the a**LTSB PPI - £770 ish for dad

My complaints about my 2 credit cards (payment protection) have been with the FOS for a few weeks this was confirmed a couple of weeks ago it was waiting to be passed over for investigation.
Its only now I thought I would inform Lloyds TSB about this, because they sent their final response obviously for me to do this, but going by what I have read on some, as soon as they know it with the FOS these have backed down and paid out, so fingers crossed folks, I will be that lucky.;)
My hubbys 2 complaints regarding Credit Card payment insurance are also with the FOS too but his only got to the FOS last week, as his final response on both of his complaints were only just sent, (dealt with his reclaim after my own).
If he is lucky they owe him lots more than mine.
His should be approx £4K, on just one of his and on at least one of mine approx £3K min.;)
Will keep you posted but going by experience with the FOS due to the large amount of complaints this may take a long time, depending on how complex the complaint is I suppose, unless the bank finally back down of course lol.
