you need to write to cancel any ppi for any repayments are made within the addition of any ppi policies - that may cut down on them, but again I'd take your questions to the CAB, they are best qualified to give the sort of advice you're after in terms of helping with debt management

    Hi
    :T
Thanks for the reply. I will look at reclaiming the PPI as mis-sold imediately. As you said it may help reduce my debts to a more managable amoount. Fingers crossed!

hi di, thanks for replying. not sure what to put into a second letter. they state that should I wish to escalate this claim then the next step would be to provide a final response. so I haven't had that yet at least. In the way of further information not sure what I need to tell them. sorry to be so dim but i'm not good with this kind of thing.

Hi hun, and cheers for getting back.;)
Right okay for a start hun your not dim.....;) , I told someone else here earlier more or less the same thing too.;) You have also made your first move and are doing the right thing by wanting for fight for this.

Good on you hun and why shouldn't you, its your money and they have deprived you of it. You believe you were mis sold, you need to tell them you do not agree with their first decision and if they do not uphold your claim you will be pursing these further through the FOS.;)

Try to remember all you can when you first had this product, there may be more to it that just medical conditions.

Were you working at the time for one ?
If you was working and where you worked would they have covered you if off sick etc, there are many other reasons.

If this was not explained to you as this was then a 'advised' sale as it was 2007 when you were sold this product, they should have explained all the excusions of the product, exemptions, everything.
You should point out that the staff member should have taken a responsibility to make you aware that the cover was right for you.

They may add that this should have been your responsibility, but hun I had this from them too, but they have rules to follow and should have used them when selling this product to you.
Maybe you thought it was all part of the agreement to be accepted for credit/loan etc, like I did at one point.;)

Now here on this site somewhere there may be further templates reclaim letters, I have not actually checked them out but if you do not come across these, then post up and ask, one of these helpful lot will see what they can do for you or advise you at least.

So no worries hun, we have time to sort this out, and ample of it, but your like me and others on here, we just want to get on with it and claim back what they shouldn't have from the start.;)

Keep us posted hun, we are all here to help and to help each other.:D

    Hi

Am just looking at the template letter to start a PPI reclaim based on mis-sold policies. At least 2 of the companies that I am insured with have already be fined according to the list on the advice.

Anyway what I would like to know is the template letter instructs me to insert name and address of company that sold me the insurance. Is this the credit card / loan company or the actual people connected to them who provide the insurance? As it was the credit card / loan company who 'sold' me the insurance on their behalf I assume? So if I send it to them wont it just cause a delay as they will have to foward it to the insurance company anyway?

Do I re-claim first informing the people who are chasing my debts that I am reclaiming my PPI so they will have to wait until my debt outstanding figure is adjusted or do I carry on with my DMP and re-adjust it later? I know the obvious is to pay now adjust later but just wonderd if I could gain some more time by waiting - maybe not as obviously what I owe would go up and I would default into arrears. Appologies - Some days I answer my own questions confusing myself and others!

 Sorry to ask so many questions but if it wasnnt for 'you lot' I wouldn't be sorting this out! :T

    Hi all,

Just looking for a bit of advice. I started a PPI reclaim in January this year, after several letters etc, etc, you all know the effort involved, the complaint was finally upheld at the end of May. :j The company said it would take a few days to sort and they would send a cheque.

Hey guess what, as yet no cheque!!! I have contacted the Compliance Manager many times but he says it is with accounts or MD. I cannot get number for either from anywhere. I have contacted FOS who said I have to wait 8 weeks from date of new complaint and then it will probably take months! I could really do with the money. Any ideas on what I can do.

The name and address you insert is who actually sold the policy to you. That is who you are claiming from, not the insurance company. I would then carry on with your debts as this is not "sure" money yet.

Hi hun, only read this quick but need to pop away for a short while, but will be back a little lata.
Right now I think you have waited long enough, a LBA should be sent to the department now hun, which is a letter before action letter ;) , if one not added I will see if I can find one and get back okay hunni, I know its easier said than done but try not to worry, we will start with this one right now and get them to shift their butts.....:D , because in my experience an LBA works, we shall give them 14 days, back soon hun, but if anyone else comes across one in the meantime then please use what they supply you with okay hunni.

    Back soon.
    Di.
