We have a secured loan with Welcome Finance and are wanting to reclaim the ppi as only hubby covered on insurance for illness etc. although both have life cover. Also mentions they won't pay for back problems which he suffers from. Want to claim it back under mis-selling . Have claimed some bank/credit charges but Welcome seem to be a different kettle of fish when dealing with people than a high street bank who do have a few scruples. Need a push to post the letter.

Any advice on dealing with welcome gratefully received.:confused:

send Martins first letter template by recorded delivery - the have 40days in which to respond - in the meantime read through as many of the posts as you can - you'll learn a lot I promise!
LTSB PPI - £770 ish for dad
LTSB PPI for dad - £1800 for dad
    Barclays PPI claim for self-£2204
Dads home insurance - reduced by £200 a year "WE DO NOT LIVE IN FLOOD AREA AND I DON'T SEE WHY WE SHOULD PAY FOR THOSE THAT DO - I WANT TO SPEAK TO YOUR SUPERVISOR"!

How long have they quoted you. I even managed to get a free hamper because I had made a complaint it wasn't a cheap one either. You could try emailing him again giving him the details of your current position. They settled mine even before the broker (CentralTrust) had settled with them If I can help you any more please PM me and I will do all I can to help.

Hope you find one soon otherwise you'll become a compulsive poster like myself and glued to this thread.
  • I have sent the standard letter to Beneficial as I reaslised recently that a card I have had since 1994 has PPI applied monthly on the balance.

The have written back quickly stating that as the card had this applied from the start and I have paid this since then I am therefore agreeing to the PPI charges and have made no effort to cancel this or query it. My payment signals agreement they state.

In conclusion they feel the PPI was added to the account in good fiath and point out that it is the customer's responsibility to review the statement and reconcile all transactions and so they decline the request for a refund of all PPI charged.

Where should I go from here - if anywhere?

    Advice appreciated, thanks

You have won your case though havn't you, The FOS also told me to wait 6 weeks but me being me I wanted it done quicker, guess I must have the gift of the gab I work as head of department for a large supermarket so I deal with stroppy folk all the time (this was my turn to get stroppy) my customers demand things from me and I sometimes end up refunding hundreds of pounds in goodwill just to keep them happy so it has to in my opinion work both ways, so it may be knowing what to say and when. Can't believe you havn't got the figures yet though maybe they are under alot of pressure with similar claims. You have been through so much loosing your job and your car. The worm will turn eventually. Chin up.
Claimed back almost £4000 so far from HSBC for mis-sold PPI
£2083.00 + £242.00 8% interest from FirstPlus and lower monthly premiums:D Studio Cards paid off my account and gave me £125.00 in gift vouchers. £500.00 Barclays.
