    Hi Marshallka

Glad to see you on here. People are feeling impotent on this site and I think feeling very protective over you cause of all the time you spend helping others. We can only keep trying sometimes in life if you do not challenge systems they never change and we can only keep trying.

    Take care;)

    Helloooooo there Max

    Hows you ?:D

Yes I feel we keep on about this subject, this needs to be seen.

Everyone feels let down and yes the courts cost money, and some cannot afford to take that chance with losing, so with a bit of luck Wendy will post back to Dreamer shortly and have her say also.

That did come to mind earlier with what Marshallka said, that they say we are protected due to using the courts, but it costs money, where all of us are in the same position of being mis sold ppi, and we should all be treated the same no matter what dates we taken out the policy, they still had a duty to be fair to us and at that time they gained more money in their pockets for mis selling to us from the start. They knew that too !!

So yes I am up for this.
Come to think of it how far do they go back to the mortgage endowment mis selling ??;)

  • hi all
At some point when I have more time I'm going to try to read through all the posts on this thread, It would be nice to know whats happening with everyone else and maybe offer my support (though might not be much) :-)

Anyway could someone please tell me how you can find out which banks are regulated by the FSA or other bodies?

    ta :-)

    Hi Di

    I am fine thank you.

I think the rules are the same 6 years or from when you realised that you were mis sold/

Think that is why some people go down the unmentionables cause those lawyers are use to dealing with the big legal eagles that the banks have. It is very daunting if you are taking them to court yourself. They can argue the case for us and make sure all is in place beforehand.

We need to keep on trying look how far this site has come in the last year with peoples input on here and how much we have learnt. On our own we are weak together we are strong.:rotfl::T

    Hi there Shellbell
Wow thank you so much, that is very thoughtful of you, and we would love you be to part of this and help whenever you can - thank you.:A

Right, if you have any of your documents, they should say on them, other than that you can check on the FSA register search.;)
I google in FSA register search and either add the finance firms name or if there is a reg number on your paperwork you can use that, either it does not matter.

Now regarding the GISC regulators, these were prior to Jan 2005, if these are not on any of the paperwork, the FOS would be able to confirm this to you, or maybe the loan finance company themselves.

It hardly makes it worth cancelling the PPI.

This can't be fair/ legal can it?

The thing is - what should we do next? Should I write back to them to complain - quoting FSA and threaten Financial Ombudsmen, or would a phone call help?

I am so angry about it, cos its just NOT RIGHT!

The loan/PPI terms say NOTHING about re-issuing the loan and the way it is set out on the agreement is loan repayments and PPI repayments seperately, so I just want to take off the PPI bit and pay the loan bit!!

My mum says she read something on here about A&L doing this but I can't find it - can anyone help me out please?

    Hi there.

Well I would be most annoyed too.....

I was thinking how long was it when this loan was taken out ?

If you think this ppi as mis sold then you should also try getting a complaint reclaim letter in to them where they would have to pay back every penny of this plus interest.

Did they add the ppi on the loan without your knowledge ?
And was this sold in the branch or over the phone ?

You do know this company were fined for mis selling ppi don't you ?
I know this is mainly to do with loan phone selling, but you can still try to pursue them on this.

Request a written breakdown of everything as it is now hun, this could back you up if you have a complaint to go to the FOS, they must provide this to you.

If the loan has recently been taken out, for instance the last few weeks then they would not have to reschedule the loan, it sounds to me if you cancel the ppi you have to sort of settle this for a new loan where they add the remainder of the existing ppi to pay that one cancelled off....... .

However I do know loan companies do this but I did not think they repayments would be higher.

If you require further info hun, please could you copy and paste this and take it to the reclaiming ppi discussion thread where you will receive some guidance from myself and others over the following days.;)

Just click on loan, then above that page you will see both success and reclaiming threads, post on the reclaiming one.

Hope to see you there in order to get some help with this, good luck.

    Di.

  • Hi I have copied the above post here for some more advice - thanks very much Di for your help.

    In answer to your questions:

He has had the loan for a couple of years I think.

We weren't going to try and reclaim any PPI because it was all done on the internet and I understood it was harder to claim if this was the case.

I was thinking that the next step would be to ask for more information like you said - the letter we received was quite vague, just said what the monthly repayment would be, I would like to know how it is calculated, whether it is a higher APR or for something else.

I'm assuming that what they are doing is giving us a settlement figure on the loan, then taking out another one to pay this off - in which case surely they are getting some of the interest at least twice?

Do you think writing for more information in the first place is the right thing to do?
