    Hi Marshallka
No I wasnt told anything about cashback by Freedom
I know ...disappointing there was no call, although as I said I did have to pop out, lets hope he rings tomorrow.
I'm glad you sent an email as well, the more of us the better surely.
Same here regarding SAR, mine should be here by mid June (giving the full 40 days) it will be very interesting to see whats there and whats missing!
This is my argument. We did not ask for the ppi and it was not asked for on the application but it was on the agreement and we were told it was with the loan, that makes me think it was Firstplus that sold it (i just remember it was a single payment - did not know this at the time but found out at the settlement and argued it so many times till i was blue in the face.) I have got one phone call listed but not on the tape that states that i tell them i had no policy sent out or paperwork from them about the ppi or the rule of 78. I can't believe i am still going on about this at this time. I am falling asleep at the computer. Time for my kip i think and then back to it tomorrow. Night everyone.

    Hi,

I have been in correspondence with both Next Plc and Debenhams regarding PPI claims. I opened the accounts in February 1996 and June 1994 respectively.

For information, if you are unsuccessful with the claim and it is before a certain time, you have to go to the Finance and Leasing Association, as opposed to the FOS.

    Details below:

    Finance and Leasing Association
    Imperial House
    15-19 Kingsway
    London
    WC2B 6UN

    Tel: 0207 8366511
    Fax: 0207 4209600

    Good luck!

Barclays bought the Woolwich / firstplus on 11 August 2000, the financial services authority didn't come into being until 2000 / 2001 and barclays registration with them was 01.12.2001. However, I'm sure they would have had to be licenced under the consumer credit Act 1974 with the Office of Fair Trading, which has rules and regulations surrounding the sale of credit facilities

ok, thanks for that, what i am asking is

If it was proved that Firstplus sold me the ppi etc and it was january, 2000 then would this then be able to be looked at by the FOS as they have yet to prove that Freedom Finance sold it to me as they say (or this Bespoke). I was told by the FOS when i asked about the Freedom thing that they could not help but would they be able to if it was Firstplus and the date being January, 2000.

also what can the office of fair trading do. I thought they just advised you to take it to court and that was all.

I would be very surprised if the FOS can look at your claim from January 2000, firstly due to the Statute of Limitations Act (6 year limit on claims) and the act of Parliament which created the FOS (the Financial Services & Markets Act 2000) wasn't enacted until July 2000

if your complaint is about individual policies you'll need to send separate letters about your specific complaint
