Sorry folks for going on again but I want to KNOW how these unfair rebates are looked at and how they are calculated so that we are not ripped off anymore. Apparently the FOS will look into these complaints but they only ask for a fairer method of calculation to be used and then you have to either accept that offer or not. If we don't know what is fair then we don't know how much we are being ripped for. I don't trust any of these banks/finance companies now.

Do not trust any of them they will have you over a barrel and take everything they can. Out of all mine the only people who have come back and paid all plus 500 more is A and L. What I mean by that is they paid the PPI back on the credit card and also gave me back the cumulative interest back without me even asking for it. The rest are thieving barstewards which is why we all got in the position we are in in the moment. The time is ending for PPI:D

  • well this site is so huge, if i am not on here twice a day i cannot keep up lol.
Update on my alliance and leicester ppi reclaim...........
they sent a reply after my initial letter saying they are looking into it, i then received a letter stating a different account number from the one i was complaining about.
It said after investigating they can confirm that there was no ppi added to my loan.
this threw me a bit so i had to dig deeper. I dug out all my a&l paperwork and after 10 minutes i twigged. When i cancelled my ppi in jan 2007 they confirmed it in writing and after that (although i didnt see it at the time) my account number changed so of course there is no ppi added to it as that is my new account (since cancelling)
    still with me???????
so i wrote my reply today stating this and also the fact that since cancelling my ppi i have still continued to pay an extra £27 per month, i suspect this is still ppi interest.
I have told them i want it back so will see what happens. Thanks again for all your advice.
    What a dirty trick though!

p.s I also added the fact that they were fined £7m this month and i do fall in to them dates between jan 05 and dec 07.

This is just another example of how they mislead you and try and rip you off even more. How do they keep getting away with this.
  • totally unbelievable, i suspect i will still have to go down the ombudsman route, although I dont mind this is just more stalling tactics. A suitcase under the bed would be safer than these accounts.

    Ah i see.
ok alliance & leicester loan for £20,000, monthly repayments £395.99 plus ppi @ £87.14 added to loan, total monthly repayment £483.13.
took out the loan in may 2006. In jan 2007 i cancelled ppi and it reduced my monthly payments to £423.51 (cant understand why it hasnt taken the repayments to £395.99 but he ho) which is what i am still paying now until may 2011.
Can i claim back my £87.14 for the 7 months that i paid it? Also when i cancelled it why did it make my payments 423.51 as this is only a saving of £60 per month rather than 87.14.........very confused lol
This was matty's first details of the loan...first taken over the net and second over the phone. It was phone ones that the Alliance and Leicester were fined for. Matty had PPI on the first loan and cancelled but refinanced and then continued to pay the interest from the first loan PPi on the second.
