Do you think its also a good idea for me to send that letter to the OFT by an attachment email just to make sure they recieve this both ways do you think ?
Do they give the opportunity to do this by email does anyone know ?
Cheers.:D (i will check in the meantime).;)

  • Hi There.
I'm a newbie to 'posting' so bare with me please. I think this is the right place to ask advice...
I recently posted a letter to Egg about reclaiming PPI on a loan I took out with them in 2004.l received the standard reply this morning saying they received my complaint and someone would be calling me to discuss.I'm just wondering has anyone else had this- if so what is involved in this call.I'm afraid they'll bully me into accepting that they weren't at fault!!!
    Thanks so much....

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has had any luck claiming back PPI from Welcome Finance through the financial Ombudsman? I first sent my reclaim letters (one for a personal loan and one for Car purchase) to Welcome in January. They told us we wouldn't get the car without the PPI and even if we did it would cost more. They didn't even mention PPI with the personal loan. Anyway, sent letters in Jan 2008, received normal fob off letters in Feb and then started complaint with FO. Have had a letter around every 6 weeks to say they still haven't assigned them to an adjudicator. Anyone else waited so long for any news? Any successes?

    Thanks in advance, Helen

    Hi there and Welcome.;)

Right hun, I have experience with dealing with these due to my few complaints, they have certainly fobbed you off here, and sent you a standard fob off response.

They also have that as an excuse that you signed it, we all have this excuse back from them, but you should write back to them now until you receive a final decision which also mentions about the Financial ombudsman service on their letter.

Write back and tell them you are not happy with their response, and will take this to the FOS if they do not uphold your complaint.

Tell them you had no choice and was made to sign the agreement in order of being told to you would only be accepted for this loan if you accepted the PPI.
Tell them you were not told otherwise, and it was not sold in your interest.

I think you have a good case here and the FOS will probably uphold this in your favour if it goes back to them.

Do you still have the copy of the first letter hun ?
If so what was the date on that letter you sent and the date on this letter you received?
We can then work out how long they have to get back to you on this, for instance as its normally 8 weeks and they responded in 6 weeks we can give them 2 weeks.;)

    Thanks hun.

    Just one other question!!

In the first letter I got from lloyds it stated the following:

the fact that there was a cash loan and a loan for the loan protection insurnace together with the respective amounts.

In my eyes thats saying to me that its a loan+interest for £15000.00 then a loan for the PPI+interest, am I right in thinking that!!!

If so, is Lloyds aloud to do this to its customers LEGALLY?

Many thanks for you help in this Question:beer:

    Hi there Helen
I am sure there has been successes here within the FOS of Welcome Finance, I do know Welcome again are not the easiest to argue againt (like them all really lol), but if you have a strong case where I am sure you have then you should also be successful and have yours upheld within the FOS.;)

    I wish you luck anyway.;)

    Hi there Andy
Unfortunately that is what they do when you have both loan and insurance, and yes I agree it does not seem right..... , but you will receive all this back plus the interest paid once this is successful, keep at them hun, you will get there and I know the FOS are so used to LLoyds fob off responses we all seem to have from these, and as we have 3 in with these right now against LLoyds, I am sure they have thousands complaints about this company and so far from what I have picked up and read on my way is that many cases are upheld with the FOS in your favour.

All the best with this Andy and just yell anytime and please keep us posted.;)
