Next February assuming I make it to one year no claims.
I wont be getting a lpg, diesel or hybrid.

Petrol and sporty for me.

Mazda RX-8, MX5, Toyota Celica etc etc, that kinda thing.

Clad in a blue leotard and wielding a saw, a man claiming to be the UK's first wheel clamp vigilante is offering his services to motorists. Angle-grinder Man - a self-proclaimed superhero - patrols by night looking for unhappy drivers who have been clamped and then sets their cars free.
He promises to take on clamping firms, speed cameras and the congestion charge on behalf of drivers.
An odd-job man by day, he claims to operate in Kent during the week and in London at weekends.
A hotline number on his website offers a free wheel clamp removal service.
I for one am prepared to fight for what is fair and am making myself available to the public

On calling, an answer phone message invites callers to "leave a message after the grinding sound".
The unnamed man, who wears a costume of gold boots and crotch-hugging pants over a blue leotard, said he was happy to take the risk.
"It's a public service," he says on his website.
"I for one am prepared to fight for what is fair and am making myself available to the public.
'Deeper malaise'
"I may not be able to single-handedly and totally cast off the repressive shackles of a corrupt government - but I can cut off your wheel-clamps for you."
He says he decided to go "full-time vigilante" in May this year.
"My obsession with wheel-clamping is actually a rebellion against a much deeper malaise," he said.
"Namely, the arrogant contempt that politicians hold for the people who put them into power, and whom they claim to represent."
A Kent Police spokeswoman said no complaint about wheel clamps being cut off had been made by either a clamping firm or a member of the public.
A spokeswoman for the Metropolitan Police said they could not investigate unless a crime was reported.



Notice how nobody has reported it to the police ? Before anybody says it no it is not me as i only appeared on the scene in sept 06

Isle of sheppey 2003, not that far from you...3 arrested individually for criminal damage to wheel clamps doing exactly what you said during a vehicle tax evasion exercise..., none called police telling them before hand... police aren't as thick as you think....

Which area was it of sheppy ? This relates to tax evasion where police are always with the dvla. I am referring to bailiffs. :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad:

It doesn't matter Criminal damage is criminal damage whether the clamp belongs to a bailiff or tax evasion....

A person who without lawful excuse destroys or damages any property belonging to another intending to destroy or damage any such property or being reckless whether any such property would be destroyed or damaged shall be guilty of an offence

Meaning of 'without lawful excuse'

Section 5 of the Act gives examples of actions that would constitute a lawful excuse and thus a defence to criminal damage charges (though not to aggravated criminal damage under Section 1(2)). You must be aware of these, particularly in relation to the defences likely to be raised by motorists damaging wheel clamps.

A motorist who damages a wheel clamp to free his car, having parked on another's property knowing of the risk of being clamped, does not have a lawful excuse under the Act: see Lloyd v DPP [1992] 1 All ER 982.

This also includes bailiffs clamping vehicles.

I'd be interested to know which part of your previous comments you would class as "lawful excuse" criminal damage is criminal damage whatever way you look at it and whoever the owner of the clamp.

Instead of inciting people to commit offences why not suggest if they are having hassle from bailiffs clamping cars to call teh police to "prevent a breach of the peace." something that the police are willing to do and without the risk of getting scuffed at the end of it.

BC when you first started this thread it looked asthough it was going to be a reasonable thread about a reasonable topic. wihtin 4 poists you wrecked that by insulting one of our posters. You are now back onto your favourite topic AND advocating people commit criminal damage to property. yes we may all love to do that to a bailiff but getting nabbed ain't gonna help the persons case lets be honest.
IYour 2 long posts do not refer at all to anything that we were discussing and in each case each person paid up before the clamps were removed, THE RIGHT WAY TO DO IT and then claim your money back.
Whereabouts on sheppy it took place is irrelevant.
Moving on now as this thread has again gone to a personal crusade against bailiffs and the initial promise of the first thread long since lost.
