DH fancies a Volvo v50 diesel  I hope he's been playing the lottery.
In all seriousness tho we have 2 cars and need 2 cars. We are DFW but the picture isn't all that bleak really we are just irresponsible budgeters.
Dh's car is a petrol 1.8 13 year old guzzler that has been a good work horse for us but will soon be going to car heaven.
I would probably go diesel then lpg then hybrid.
My work has a honda civic hybrid pool car and i hate it with a passion. Up here we don't have congestion charge, we only drive 6000 miles a year if that and really i cannot justify the extra expense on what is ultimatly an inferior car. Give it 10years and imay change my mind, I used to hate diesels but the newer ones are a whole lot better than they were 15 years ago.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000 -

I need to change mine every 3 years as it's a taxi!!!...and does loads of miles....it will be diesel yet again unless they come up with a family sized car that drive as good as my diesel car for the amount of hours per day that that drives..when we are working at full swing the taxi is on the road 23 hours per day 6 days per week...they haven't invented a car that is good for the environment yet that meets those expectations!!!!
I do not think bio fuel is good for the environment as it takes up a lot of land to grow the stuff and then they have to produce the oil from it and meanwhile they have world food shortages!!!!...
If I'm not working then I walk everywhere unless it's a big food shop.If I didn't have to have a car I wouldn't have one....0 -
Well whatever cheap (diesel) runaround I can afford....which isn't much!
Parents lent me £460 (yes that was how much the car cost) to buy my last car back in October....made the final payment this week!We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

In my experience, when you say 'nothing personal' that is, in fact, exactly what you mean.Empty pockets never held anyone back, only empty heads and empty hearts can do that -Peale0
