I know this has had press and radio coverage now but is there anything on the Internet (bar here, of course)?

Also, any thoughts on differences in Scottish Law or would the transaction be under English Law and HomeBase/Argos are based in England?

    Hi

I've just checked and my money has been taken - definately not reserved (abbey debit card). I sure I won't get the telly - but I'm rearranging the furniture just in case.
    I would if I could but I can't so I won't!

but it's been a bank holiday weekend. Would you give up all your bank holiday plans to go into work and sort out a mess, or leave it until Tuesday?
And I know the top dogs should be concerned, but i can't really see them forcing a load of customer service operatives into work to sort out this mess.

And to unravel this mess, refund payments to 1000s of customers, will take time.
  • and what about all the interest they have made from all the payments received

Do we know it is thousands?
As the Argos site checks for stock near a postcode would a real time stock system not have said if there was no stock. So perhaps there were not THAT many orders. Or perhaps they forgot to plug it in to the stock system.

Argos delivery lorry just pulled up outside the house....

Sadly they were delivering to a neighbour who wasn't in so when signing for neighbour's box I mentioned the busy website at the w/end and asked them when they would be delivering my 49p TV icon7.gif

My assumption based on number of people shouting. Even 100s will cause problems sorting this out.
This is back on the web for 499.99. 49p, 49999, easy mistake to make.

Should be credited soon as well.
As previously stated, just cos the moneys gone out of your account DOESN'T mean a contract has been made, "At common law, when the mistake is operative the contract is usually void ab initio, ie, from the beginning."

But I thought yesterday it was £350 not £400+?

Are they making it that price so it fits the excuse?
