Bearing in mind how many views across the net this thing has had it would be safe to say at least 15,000 units have been ordered. With an average saving of £350 per unit that would be a total cost of over £5 million to Argos!! I think everybody will have to settle for money back.0

ok, let's make this nice and simple, as we've had this discussion so many times on different threads...
1) The contract takes place on despatch, which is when they also charge your card. Up until that point they have only reserved the funds, they have NOT taken the money.
2) If they despatch the goods and charge your card, then the contract is complete. They cannot come back later and ask for the true price, 49p + postage is what you pay.
3) If they spot the error prior to despatch, they will try and contact you to advise that there was an error, and that the true price is £xxx - they will ask if you still want to purchase at that price. If so, fine. If not - order cancelled. If they can't contact you, then they will also cancel the order.

Just a thought..... as it looks like we won't be recieving any tvs ...... how much money are they gonna make from the interest collected on a lot of £5.44's if they don't refund us the money in the next few days ....if just 10000 were ordered they would have 54,400.00 sitting in their bank earning them interest...there was probably more like 30,000 or more ordered over the 2 different sites and days .... Do you think this was really just a pricing error????

But Im not sure they actually have the money.....Its all been reserved, and floating about the banking system!!In this trusted place U can erase
Every tear that ever rolled down your weary face
All the time U waste in that paper chase
Is time better spent in these arms of mine0 -
The money is still in your account. If you have £100 in your bank, and they reserve £5.44, then your balance will be £100, but the amount available to withdraw will be £94.56.
They don't take the money, they just reserve it, so that when they come to take it (on despatch) they don't suddenly find you've spent it...0 -
Oh well No tv's and no money taken so no real harm done :wall: ....The dream of a 49p telly was fun while it lasted :-(:A0
