My parents gave me an MR fastbake as a gift on the weekend - it is fantastic! Sad as I am, I sat on a stool in the kitchen watching the first mixing cycle - it is fascinating watching the dough come together - sort of like when you are a child watching raindrops race down the window in the rain.... (or was that just me? :) )

It makes good bread though. But forget the fastbake cycle which produces heavy bread - the 3 hour+ ones are best. I know - I've tried 4 different cycles already!

    No worries!!

It'll give me something to look forward too! Mind you, by the time it comes, I'll have so many recipes that I'll probably have worn it out by Christmas!:rotfl:

I think it's a matter of taste - I have a MR Fastbake, (£10 from ebay) and my lot much prefer the 1 hour fastbake loaf!
They said the normal one was too dry!
So do experiment, & find out what you like best.:D

  • Hi Thistle-down

Thanks for this great post. I have heard many people talking about the panasonic BM but at £99 I thought this was steep.

However, using the codes I have also ordered the MR one for £14.50, this is such a big price difference, especially as it is rated 2nd to the Panasonic.

Now I will have to read all the hints and tips on the BM thread - can't wait.
I just love the smell of fresh baked bread.

    Thanks Again
    Cats

No sign of mine yet Lynz, but my delivery date was for the 31st, so I'm hoping it will arrive at the start of next week. I think being in Northern Ireland makes delivery slower. :(

I'm glad yours has arrived :j Let us know how you get on with it!

cats whiskers, I think I'll be joining you on the BM collection. :)

On the LX direct order tracking thingy, it says the expected delivery date for mine is the 9th November, but the courier tried to deliver it today, and will come back tomorrow!:T

Bought a pasta maker in the Argos sale last week, so thinking I'll make home made pasta and sauce and some lovely bread for tea tomorrow night!

God, I think its probably bad to be as excited about this as I am,
    I'm only 30! :rolleyes2 :rotfl:
  • I just placed my order for the fastbake but at the end it says : £25 off next order with LX Visa Account?
Does that mean they've taken the £25 off or that i will get £25 off the next time i order with them
I used 2 codes, one for £25 off & the other for 10% off, are these the codes that everyone else used to get their fastbake breadmaker?

    Thanks
