Migrating from Blueyonder Broadband

Hi everyone,
I've read on various sites about getting an MAC Key and the current connection configuration.
However, this is for BT lines.
Which companies allow for a migration through a cable provider?
What extra would we have to pay.
We are thinking of moving to PlusNet because the cost is more reasonable.
Thanks.

Bit confused, you need a BT line for ADSL. You can't migrate from a cable provider because you can't get ADSL with a cable provider!
If you also mean you have cable broadband and want to migrate it to Plusnet then you can't do that neither.
You would get the MAC key from your current ADSL provider and give it to plusnet along with your current broadband package.
Be careful with plusnet, they sign you up to a 12 mth contract with insane cancellation charges, and if you go on a monthly contract there are high set up fees.
maybe a bit more info would help
EDIT. Going from the thread title it does seem you are saying you want to change from BY broadband to Plusnet broadband. You cannot do this by migrating. You would need to get a BT line installed (if you haven't already) and then sign up with Plusnet. Therefore you would have Plusnet charges plus you BT line rental.
I would stay with BY, but it's your choice.

Sorry!
We are currently with Blueyonder but want to move because of the price.
We have cable telephone, but the old line we had wasn't taken over by Telewest.
My dad says that our old BT line is still available.Filiss0 -

my edit clashed with your posting, see my edit in my first post

you won't need to migrate then...you sign up as a new user for a BT line ADSL provider, get your free modem and activation date, then serve notice to Blueyonder...the dates may overlap a bit and all you need to do is uninstall the blueyonder set-up and install the new modem
MAC numbers are only for non cable ADSLEx forum ambassador

I know Blueyonder seems expensive at the moment but after the announcement 2 weeks ago with the 1mb (£25 package) becoming 4mb at no extra cost it will become a good deal
I'm currently on the £35 2mb deal but will downgrade to the 1mb deal soon, so I'll be saying a tenner a month but will be getting 4mb speeds in the next few months :rotfl:0 -
Im going to move into a new flat in a few weeks time but dont want a phone line as i wont use it (use mobile) the only problem is i will have to go with blueyonder because they are the only people that do cable Internet

Blueyonder are going to be offering 2mb unlimited for £17.99/month, as their entry level package, if that's a better place. This is an upgrade from 512kb0

If you're thinking of going over to Plusnet. Have you seen THIS thread? There are major changes going on with them at the moment and a lot of people are really unhappy with them.
They also use bandwidth shaping, so for certain types of services (filesharing) they cut back your broadband speed. This is no good for anyone that downloads by this method. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?
