Thanks for your suggesstion. It would be a major exercise, with the set-up in my office, to move the pc to the main socket (though I may have to face that). I was happy enough with the 2megs I've been getting for the past 8 weeks and nothing has changed apart from the speed (now 120k) in the past two days.

maxi, beg, borrow, buy a wireless router and adapter to test with?! or try with a laptop? at .2mbs something is seriously wrong, before phoning your isp you need to make sure the fault is not your end, as the first thing they will (should) say is to perform the same test. can you get your line stats as things are set now?Utinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0

Tony, just back from a late lunch to find my Virgin bb is back up to 1.8meg after two days at 120-250k. I'll keep watching/testing but, as nothing physical has changed, it has to be the service which has been at fault.0
