Pocket KillBox is a program that can be used to get rid of files that stubbornly refuse to allow you to delete them.

KillBox Download Link

Download this file and run the killbox.exe file. When it loads type the full path to the file you would like to delete in the field , in your case

c:\windows\system32\msvcrtd.exe

and press the Delete File button (looks like a red circle with a white X). It will prompt you to reboot, allow it to do so, and hopefully your file will now be deleted

Do you find that your machine runs slowly? You have an awful lot in your start up, Roxio software etc..... You might want to consider not having so much in your startup options

Yes I guess there is rather a lot. The thing is I dont normally sort the pc. But I am beginning to think I need to keep on top of things. I guess half of this stuff doesnt really need to be in startup

No it doesn't. It is for convienence only, ie the Roxio software, if you want to burn a cd or dvd launch it when you need it. The real and java update tracker is also just a convienence

apart from that the scan looks clean

when you get the time do a Full scan with AVG , double click the icon on the bottom right of your screen for AVG , then Test Centre on the right tool bar , then Full scan

let it move any rubbish to the virus vault if it finds it

if it cannot deal with it in normal windows mode then run AVG in safe mode

if you want to organise your startup options goto start, run and type in msconfig and hit ok. In the applet that opens is a startup tab. Go here and disable the stuff you don't want starting, don't delete it just in case you need to reenable it.
