    I can get a watchable picture with the TV plugged into nothing at all, but then I can see the transmitter from where I am sitting. I find it funny that people complain about mobile phone masts broadcasting at 80W, when the local TV transmitter is blasting out 1000kW.

    Anyway if you just use the TV with a games console, you don't need to break your TV by snapping bits out or paying someone to do something, just make sure that the TV is not tuned to *ANY* TV stations, it is not plugged into a TV aerial and that there is no ability to do so (i.e. you don't have a co-ax lead).

    Mind you even when you have done this the TV Licensing people still won't believe you (although even if you didn't have a TV they wouldn't believe you either).
