Anyone know how to copy a DVD to the hard disk?
You can copy the contents of a DVD made on the machine to the hard drive, but not a 'normal' one - it's not protected or anything like that.

i got round that by connecting my old DVD player to the recorder. I can now copy DVD's from the old player to the HDD recorder. Haven't had any problems so far.

The trouble with that is that there will be two quality hits: one from the digital/analogue/digital conversion and one from the mpeg decode/code.
Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.

So is there a better way? Does that apply if the units are connected directly via scart or s video etc

  • They have been on sale since Thursday, so you might still be able to get one. My local store seemed to have quite a few on Thursday.

Another great thing about Aldi (my best mate is a manager at a store) is that they refund with no questions asked, just tell them its broke. So basically, buyt it and try it, if its crap you have 12 months to take it back.

I am not saying I do this, but 12 months free TV rental is pretty good, if you get my drift ;)

Bought the remote from Aldi as well, but the learn wont work (for me). I set it up with my pace digital receiver, and it wouldnt save the learned keys....
Anyone any ideas? The manual does not say how to save the learned keys, so I assumed it saved them automatically. If anyone has used learn and saved the keys let me know here. Thanks.

You might be better asking in the thread about the remote.

Thanks, only noticed after I posted........
  • We brought the in car DVD player from ALDI last year at around £160 and it's fantastic. Decent size screen, remote, all things to fasten to either the back of a seat or in the middle of the two front seats if you have two children. Has cigarette lighter lead and mains battery. You can charge up the battery and it lasts around 2 1/2 hours. Well worth the money, my friend tried to get one and looked every where and without spending hundreds couldnt get one with as good size screen or quality.
