We are writing to let you know that we have changed how our internet-banking passwords are made up. From 15th April, 2008 your internet-banking password must contain letters, digits and special characters (such as £, $, %, etc). This change will help to keep your account safe.
We suggest you change your password immediately, but you will be able to log onto your internet-banking account using your existing password until 15th June, 2008. After this date, you will have to change it otherwise you will not be able to access your account.

Got the email too... tried to change it but the system still only accepts the numeric passwords! 'Immediately' my !!!!!0
-
Maybe they are updating the website as I can't log in due to "technical difficulties" at the moment :mad:0

I too got the email, and tried as they said, "immediately" but found only accepting numeric passwords. Phoned them and advisor knew nothing about email and I suggested that I forward email to them for comment, which I have done. Can't see that it is a 'phishing' mail as contains no links but it certainly seems the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing.0

I managed to log in just now but whilst looking around to see where to change my password I got kicked out with another technical error message
To save hassle, can anyone tell me which option to choose to change passwords please?
Found it under "Customize"!!!!!
Shame they didn't update their help screens etc with the new password rules - slack project management - very worrying - hope they manage my money better!!!!!!
Let's see if I can do it now then...............
Nope - the p*llocks still haven't updated that section and only numerics are accepted. Why did they send the email out I wonder....0 -
It is in the menu of options in the top bar. Can't tell you the precise one as it is refusing to log me in at the moment!0

I think it is customize in the top bar.0

I must say, I ahven't been overly impressed with ICICI as I was with Egg where I used to have my instant access savings. It seems they are not very good at English firstly, some gramatical errors which is kind of worrying. Also, when you do log in, inevitably the page will not load correctly, with missing icons, wrong formatting etc...
And to think I am putting all my savings in this account, only able to be managed online and it doesn't even load properly. They are having downtime for system upgrades, but seems that is related to the telephone side of customer enquiries, not upgrading the servers. And now, they can't even update their systems to allow you to change your password... it's not what I would call reassuring!
I;m certainly thinking about moving again, even though ICICI is the best provider for me at the moment. Anyone else got these concerns/problems?0 -
Megalo, see http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=851675 for some problems they have been having relating to recurrent technical issues which means money transferred out has been delayed in the HiSave accounts.0

Another incompetence, which could cost you a lot of money in the long run (I am paid quarterly, so need regular withdrawals from my INSTANT access savings account. Who to go to now...
Thanks bob!0 -
Your welcome. Think about Kaupthing Edge - they pay more interest (6.5% gross AER compared with ICICI 6.16%), have no big restrictions/limitations and provide better service (also British based in terms of customer service).0
