1. They called me last week and asked me If I was interested in the property going to a closing date. I said I was and they said not to put in my final bid now as they would be back in touch.....they didnt.
2. Registering a note of interest in the property does exactly this. Also calling them every week or so I assume lets them know I'm still interested.
3. That is irrelevant as they told me they would be back in touch for me to put in my final offer.
4. I don't know they told me a few days ago they would be back in touch with the closing date.

Is it possible that the vendor could have changed the way the sale was being handled?
From what you have said it does appear to be have handled badly by the EA, but without knowing the full story, which we never will, its impossible to comment.
And yes, I'm one of those people you love to hate.0
