Don't you just hate Estate Agents.

I only like one estate agent and she has the most amazing smile, I am now smiling just thinking about it."I'm not from around here, I have my own customs"
For confirmation: No, I'm not a 40 year old woman, I'm a 26 year old bloke!0 -

This is turning in to an argument when it doesn't have to.
No it's not like ebay at all. This is the Scottish Property market, not an online auction site.
When a notice of interest is made the Estate Agent HAVE TOO inform all interested parties of any further bids. This is the whole point of registering a note of interest. It also lets potential buyers how much interest there is in that property.
i have read further above could you answer my last post?

Pipistrel obviously knows how things work up here. For anyone else who doesn't please do not post unless you know what you are talking about.
THE SCOTTISH PROPERTY SYSTEM DOES NOT WORK THE SAME AS THE ENGLISH SYSTEM!
My argument is not with the seller it is with the Estate Agent who should have informed me.
Please read my initial post correctly before posting please.
i have read what you put above, could you answer the questions?

The only upside to a property crash? Estate agents lose their jobs. Boo hoo.
Hope things work out for you and you find something better.
What an absolutely disgusting thing to say! Estate Agents are human too, they have mortgages and children and lives to live....to be happy that anyone should lose their job is awful! I hope that you are never in that position.
Anyway......even "if" the market crashes property will still need to be bought and sold, therefore, there is still the need for Estate Agents! My home is usually the House Buying, Renting and Selling Forum where I can be found trying to (sometimes unsucessfully) prove that not all Estate Agents are crooks. With 20 years experience of Sales/Lettings and having bought and sold many of my own properties I've usually got something to sayIgnore......check!0 -
I didn't think a note of interest meant that you have to be informed of other bids - just a closing date if there was one. When I sold my flat I had two notes of interest but chose to go with the person who actually put in an offer and wasn't humming and hawing about it. I didn't want to go to a closing date, so the person was told that an offer had been accepted - as far as I remember he wasn't told about the bid beforehand. Sounds to me like you were told that there was a closing date, so you should maybe have upped your offer then?0

Whats your problem! Just becuase you where not clever or informed enough to help Argyll, you decided to take it upon yourself to wish that people lose their jobs and livelihoods. Pointless, moronic, stupid, unnecessary the list is endless, but you my friend are what is wrong with the world today!0 -

If no they might have thought we have only got one offer lets accept it, they might have been in a rush.
I can understand your frustration, but did you make it clear you was still interested after your last offer?
How many days was it you made your last offer?
When was the date for the final offers?

I think some of you forget that EA's are human beings who have feelings! They're not all out to screw you and if you think they are then you need help for paranoia. Yes, we're making redundanices - its not a good thing to have to sit in a meeting to do.0

some are okay, but to be honest most of them are sneaky bandits, ive had a couple come round mine when i put my house up for sale and they were stabbing each other in the backs something rotten.
Oh and they come round telling you what they are going to do like we will be in touch every week for an update on your property and they you hear nothing for 12 weeks.
I put my house up for sale with wow property, and i had no interest, so i called a local estate agent i had come round before, and he was so full of xxxx it was unbelievable, i could not believe what he said he was going to do and actually what he did, anyway he got the boot last week.
im gonna try and sell it privately.
i would say 1 in 5 are okay:D

So, you had two agents round and that gives you data to back up your 1 in 5 are ok. Get a life. They have job to do which is commission based. If they don't get a property on they can't sell it and so on. I'm sure you are completley proud of what you do and how you do it, however, that still doesn't make you judge and jury on an industry that you have no idea about.0
