"Fast Pasta", published by Australian Women's Weekly, ISBN 978-186396594-1 has hundreds of quick pasta dishes, many of them without tomatoes. I got it from Waterstones so it's available here in the UK.
Yeah, whatever. I'm a grown up, I can take it...

I used to nanny for a little girl whose favourite pasta dish was frozen spinach sauteed in a little butter with chopped bacon. It was so good I used to have my dinner with her when we had that!

one of our favourites when my two were very small was based on annabel karmels popeye pasta.

nuke a bag of spinach, or defrost frozen, wooze until very well chopped and stir into a tub of cream cheese. i prefer philly bcos i find the Mr Ts cheaper version is a bit runny, but in MSE spirit I stock up when its on offer.

add a grating of nutmeg if you can get away with it and blob onto pasta with lots of parmesan.

I think my almost 1 yr old daughter is allergic to tomatoes so need to rethink my menu plan.
Usually have something pasta and tomato based once a week, bolognese, pasta bake, etc so need some alternatives for these!!

Was thinking something with pesto for a pasta sauce, any ideas? Or any pasta sauces that dont involve tomatoes?

Sorry didn't have time to read entire thread but..

Fried onion, mushroom, then creme fraiche (or cream if she still needs fattier food).
Also add poached or smoked (!) salmon to the above.

Have seen something called "no-mato" in health food shops, I'm guessing it's a tomato substitute.

    Cold pasta in salads?

I do a casserole-type thing which basically involves pasta, sausages and veg (eg peas) all boiled in one saucepan (add peas a little later on), when cooked don't drain all the water but stir in gravy granules. Tastes better than it sounds! ;) Pre-fry sausages if you want them brown, as they won't colour very much.

Use a white sauce as a base and add cheese etc if required?

Or cream of chicken/mushroom soup works well ;)

    No sauce pasta?

    Use pesto

Alternatively egg and bacon pasta is fairly cheap if you use cooking bacon. Wilt onion in pan with a little oil and garlic, when soft, add bacon and oregano. Meanwhile cook pasta in another pan. When pasta is done, drain and add to bacon. Mix well and then add one beaten egg, stir well. The heat of the pasta will cook the eggs and coat the bacon/pasta.

i sometimes add a little grated cheese to hot pasta, ditto olive oil or pesto. Campells condensed soups are also good. I use the mushroom one and add a little diced bacon and heat it all on the hob

Very good extra virgin olive oil, black pepper, basil leaves and parmesan. Simple but delicious. Or add in a good pesto for some extra num.

Anything basically. People are very restrictive when it comes to pasta but any sauce you like can be used. For something more traditionally italian, roast veg, or slowy sauteed, with garlic and balsamic vinegar.
And if, you know, your history...
