  • Ooooh how exciting :D

After following this thread for sometime, finally plucked up the courage to put it in action.

Scoured the shelves for misprices, most of the offending labels on products mentioned here had been removed.

However, I did find packs of two salt and pepper coated duck breasts, £4.49 on the packet £3.99 on the shelf.

Student on customer services -said that they should be £4.49 but were mispriced on the shelf- and tried to give me 50p back. However he gave me full refund when I asked for it.

Think I might try the Tesco Extra down the road tomorrow - I can feel an obsession developing!!!
2007 Comping challenge wins so far: April: 1 pair James tickets, May: 1 pair VIP tickets to Knowsley Hall Music Festival, 1 pair Justin Timberlake tickets, lipsy necklace, June: 1 pair cornershop tickets

    Total value won so far: £583!!!! :j :j :j
  • It does become obsessive and I am still amazed at my bargains. I volunteered to do the shopping today instead of hubby and I managed to slash £15 off the bill with refunds and vouchers and BOGOFs.
;) I am the only Voucher Queen in my village LOL ;)

Was that 4 lots of Shower oil for £3.48 or just 2

That was for 2 - they are usually £3.48 each apparently - seems a bit expensive so I would not normally buy them.

You have to buy four, then you get £7.96 off £9.96.

Just did it so I do know it works.

I went to my nearedt tescos today and it didn't have any mispriced cds. or bogof nivea products.. The only thing I managed to buy were the razors(wwith voucher), I bought a razor, a pack of 4 (to get the voucher) and a pack of 8, to redeem the voucher. These were the last of the vouchers at this store!!!

I need help, how do you know if its mispriced, or do you take a gamble on reduced items??

    Thanks
ACII and Chartered so now I can focus on learning to play my beautiful Sax. 🎷

I think they already know before buying it, but I would be interested in the method others use to find the miss prices.

Britbrat, it works on the shower oil, as well as the shower cream? The shower oil is the smaller, more expensive product.

First I check the shelf price and then check the pack prices if the shelf price is lower I take the item to the instore scanner (if available) and see if the overprice is the cost being charged. If the higher price is being shown on the scanner I get a few of the item, then I do other bits of shopping - milk, paper, etc and then proceed to the checkout and pay. With the receipt in hand I take myself off to the customer services and point out the overcharge, I then get a refund and keep the goods! :T
I always check this site to give me good pointers for the wrongly priced items and look at other items too in case there is a "new" bargain to be had.

Thank's for the reply Save4ArainyDay, as we know the right hand barcode relates to price on pre-packed item maybe we can us ethat to confirm what we will be charged.

Would be good to test this out as we do the scanner checks.

    Side note:
I see you tried to use the quote?

The VB code used is "[ quote]YOUR TEXT[ /quote]" without the spaces I put in after the first [.

Also to put the posters name in [ quote=POSTERS NAME]YOUR TEXT[ /quote]

All the codes can be found here:
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/misc.html?do=bbcode

Or you could just click "vB code is " below in Posting Rules box.

If you aready knew sorry, but it took me ages to work it out many years ago, I now have macros to automate it.
