I wouldn't even bother changing the names. Jane and becky went to see 21 dresses, never had any problems despite it having my name on it. They don't ask for id in my experience.

edit: oh and no there's no list... give him the ticket with your name on...

    Hi
I've given away tickets to family/ friends before and TBH I've never had anyone return without watching the movie...simply 'coz nobody is interested in who has handed in the printout as long as there are only said number of people walking in.
I've a young son so simply cannot make it to every movie but DH likes to take a friend along and make it a 'boys night'!
    Good luck!

Just about to go to bed and looked at my emails and see that warner bros have sent me a email to go and see speed racer for free tomorrow morning at an advanced screening so keep an eye out on the email box.

I've only been to two SFF screenings and the first time I wasn't asked for ID but the second time I was - luckily I was personally going that time.

I know chit/chat isn't wanted on this thread but i think this needs to be said.

Like the previous poster, i too have got the VIP code for Manchester/Lowry for "What Happens In Vegas"

I would like to urge fellow VIP members NOT to post the VIP SFF codes here or anywhere. It defeats the object of me or others paying £1.50 per text IF the code is hammered by non-service subscribers.

I also think the SFF VIP idea is a good one but fails for 3 reasons: :

    1. What happens if you get texts for codes that you already found/acquired elsewhere?
    2. What happens if they text you a code for a movie that is sheer cack?
    3. This kinda falls in line with problem 1. If we are expected to pay a VIP rates, then surely we should be amongst the first to receive the codes. Taking this movie for example (What Happens In Vegas), there have been about 5 codes flying around for the last 2 weeks!! (which is when i luckily got mine). I think the SFF VIP members should get the codes before magazines, internet, forums etc. Getting them first gets rid of problem 1 above.

That could be a potential £12 per month down the drain (2 texts a week @ £1.50 x 4 weeks), which is the cost of a Broadband service!!

I think it makes sense that they charge the £1.50 for any text that the VIP member actually USES.

    1. Send out the text
    2. Let the user decide if he/she has/wants to use the code
    3. User logs into a VIP section on the site
    4. User enters email, password and mobile number he/she received text on (that way SFF knows who to charge the £1.50)
    5. SFF make the £1.50 charge
    6. If the user does not want to use the code, then he simply doesn't do anything. SFF will be able to determine which users have took advantage of the code or not as per instruction 4.

If user doesn't use the code, then user pays normal standard 10p text charge.

Im happy i got a VIP code, but it was for a movie thats had about 5 codes already blasted over the net this week.

    What you reckon?

    Hi Folks,

Just wanted to say in relation to the ongoing VIP debate that is raging on here and the other board (naughty!) that I DON'T understand why anyone who uses this board would bother to sign up to a paid for (and not cheap!) service, when this fab site is so good for getting tickets. Does anyone really need more than 3 free films a month (what I average from here I reckon)? And the feeling you get when you post a code that hasn't gone up yet and everyone thanks you makes you feel all lovely and warm inside :> I'm just not really sure why people would join a 'free cinema' discussion board only to urge other users not to post codes so that they (the author) can see more films - slightly odd logic?? It would be like if you were handing money out in the street and some passerby came up and was like: 'Can you not do that please, because it devalues my money'. And?

In other news saw XXY last night (my number finally came up with Time Out). Really enjoyed it, would give it an 8/10.

Went to see Iron Man last week at Cineworld in Bolton and it was fab, a 10 out of 10 rating. The only annoying thing was the staff keep checking out the audience with a night vision viewer.

  • I was wondering if anyone had managed to get into a screening put on by EROS card without showing their EROS card?

My name is on their list and I have the email printout - I just have lost my EROS card...
