Oh, and nothing, simply NOTHING could be worse than Lady Godiva!!
The tagline for that film is: Prepare for the ride of your life.
Yeah, cos the journey back is going to be the best part of that visit to the movies/DVD rental shop/your-computer-after-illegaly-downloading-it!

I agree with the posters above about What Just Happened.
I've never left a film early before in my life. After 40 mins I had become uncomfortable & fidgety (a sign that I'd become bored) - and asked OH what she thought of film.
We agreed it was awful. Bruce Willis turned up, so I thought it might lift the film & gave it another 5 mins but, alas, could take no more.
I only noticed 2 other people leaving before it got to this point (I was at Gateshead too). When I got home I checked on imdb, only to see it has a rating of 8.0 out of 10. I thought I'd check here in case it was just me, and whether the film got any better. Doesn't sound as if it did...0 -
It was no The Player, but it definitely deserves more (or at least some) praise here. Bobby De Niro was good and underplayed the character very well. Michael Wincott as the Brit director was pretty funny and the film was constantly amusing just not laugh out loud funny. It was a bit too long but was surely much better than fluff like Taken that people raved about on these boards a few months ago.
I so agree about DeNiro and the other guy and about TAKEN, I thought it was real rubbish looking back not even Superman was so prompt!:rotfl: :rotfl: (glad I can talk to someone, though!) Yes, finally DeNiro gets out of that mafia grimace and started to play a different character, it is very difficult to play ummms and ehemmms as he did I thought it was very good and I enjoyed the film thoroughly! Thanks to those who help us to win !0 -

To say that you must have lived a very sheltered life, cinematographically speaking .
Personally I quite liked it.
As I posted immediately after the free Insider preview ...................
A very good British film with talented British actors filmed in Oxford.
A nice present day story based on the Godiva tale.
Won't be a recognised as a classic and unlikely to be nominated for any awards, but easy to watch, entertaining, some good funny moments and would recommend a viewing.
For the "genre" of movies that this fits in I'd give it 10/10
In the overall movie market 7.5/10 (maybe just an 8)

I don't think I have lead a "sheltered life, cinematographically" (or otherwise
) just because you liked it and I didn't. That's a bit of an odd conclusion to make...
However I respect your view and if you liked it then fair enough. Lucky you. I and the majority of the cinema didn't (going by the number of people I overheard saying "That was sh*t!" and similar comments).
The story line was awfully portrayed (assuming it was meant to be better than it was on screen), the nonsensical scenes (horse dying, song about it, oh - wait - it's ok now. !! Point?), the bad acting (the "I love you" on the bridge, the police actors, that horse scene. etc), and the general flow of the film seemed to be done a bit ad-hoc-ishly (did the director make up that dance scene in the hall on the spot, or what??) and was 'bumpy'.
For a directorial debut, no I probably couldn't do any better. Granted.
As a directorial debut, yes it was downright awaful and embarrasing.
Even as a film for it's genre (there's a genre for this type of film!?): 2/10. Otherwise, 0/10.
Each to their own, though:dance: That window's cracked on both sides!!0 -

No the conclusion wasn't drawn from that.
It was the "NOTHING could be worse than Lady Godiva".
You seriously can't think of anything worse ?
Did you see "Ealing Comedy" ?

Nope, haven't seen that, but thanks for the warning:dance: That window's cracked on both sides!!0

I may not have seen Ealing Comedy either but of the films that I have seen (that's quite a lot) Lady Godiva was quite possibly by far the wurst one (for some reason, german sausage pun intended. No I don't know why either.)
During the whole film my wife and I kept exchanging glances as neither of us could believe that the whole thing wasn't some elaborate wind-up to prove that people will see abso-bloody-luetly anything if it's free - Hell, I know I do.
If a certain amount of chimps and typewriters can recreate the works of shakespeare all I can assume is that Lady Godiva was cobbled together by 2 dyslexic slugs who had a broken typewriter.0 -
GRRR!!!
I've just got my mobile bill from 3 and have found that giving feedback to Tellten by text has cost me £1.50!!Apparently the number - which I texted 6 times - is based in Jersey so 3 don't consider it as part of my allowance.
It leaves a bit of a sour taste in the mouth.
I've just emailled Tellten and am waiting for their response...
Don't know if anyone else is affected - I know a few who gave feedback and were excited that we might have won a prize...0
