Did anyone else manage to go see Slumdog Millionaire yesterday? Amazing film. I highly recommend this film - but it is a bit of an emotional roller-coaster. I was a bit weepy throughout at the hardships faced. I really hope this film gets some positive recongition in the UK. I can't even see that VUE has it on it's coming soon list - will anyone else be able to see this film?

The BIFA 2008 (British Independent Film Awards) took place on 30th November and Slumdog Millionaire came out with best results of the main awards, winning 3 of them.

    Quote:

"Director Danny Boyle's new movie Slumdog Millionaire has scooped three top prizes at the British Independent Film Awards in London.
The film, about a poor Indian boy who wins a fortune on a game show, triumphed at the 30 November (08) ceremony, winning the Best Director prize for Boyle and Best Newcomer for teen actor Dev Patel. The picture also landed the coveted Best Film award."

Many thanks for reviews of Slumdog Millionaire, Quoia and vicious vic - I managed to get some more tickets for January ( thanks templei) - which I am really pleased about as I had been SO looking forward to the film, plus the night out of course
Ended up not going to bed at all last night - but working through past papers all night
Currently feeling dreadful, but hopefully the extra effort will mean I will have passed the exam. If I had gone to the film I would have not enjoyed it as much knowing I should have been revising.

Unfortunately I have to get up at 7 to get ds to school and me to work......no rest for the wicked

Just wanted to add that we too thought Slumdog Millionaire was a fantastic film - place was busy and everyone stayed in their seats right through the credits at the end - have already recommended it to loads of people. Would say best film seen this year

the link didn't work for me but they did send an email. I was able to print the ticket from that instead.
  • I also applied for ticket from Tell Ten, unable to print from site, and no email yet. Unsure what to do, perhaps currently busy on the site, hopefully will get the email within next 24 hrs.
Just because your paranoid does not mean they are not out to get you ! :rotfl:
  • Check your email and you should have confirmation of your booking. There will also be a link to print your ticket again.

Slumdog Millionaire gets a thumbs up from me....brilliant film...very thought provoking and entertaining as well. The Vue in Cheshire Oaks basicaly full except for the front rows that give you a cricked neck so no one wants to sit in them anyway.

Sounds like a good film, I just got an email and the codes posted on the alerts but having looked at the whole email and it says this, don't really understand, surely they want bums on seats:
    Posting codes on the Internet
This is really unfair and we (and most of the database) struggle to understand why people do this. You post the code anonymously, and stop other people getting tickets, for the sake of giving them to strangers who wont even thank you?!
If we do trace people doing this we will take them off the database, and we appreciate help from other members in tracking down these people - its pointless, and stops you getting tickets
