    Followed the T&C's .............. TO THE LETTER

    First sent back the first (and only) 2 DVD's that they sent to me.

    Then waited for them to show up as RETURNED on my account.

    Next after checking they had them back, followed the 'Close your Account' link and carried out their instruction.

    Next waited for CONFIRMATION that my account had been closed.

    Then 2 days later went in to my account (was still able at that time) and deleted my list .................. JOB DONE!!!

    Then logged in each day after to check status and was finally DENIED access (as in NO ACCOUNT ANY MORE) another couple of days after that.

    SO ........................ NO REASON (on their part) for NOT sending the free DVD?

    On the part of Wilkinsons (not the DVD rental provider company) ................ STILL no reply from them after their initial contact at the beginning of last week???

    So the Con-voluted episode GOES on ................ WILL email them again from Monday, each and every day ...................... Perhaps they might find the time then to finally reply!


    pretty much what i did except i used the full trial and had about 6 dvds from them
    but because i deleted the list AFTER the i had cancelled they said they wasnt giving me the dvd as they couldnt tell if there was ever 15 titles in my list or not

    my only satisfaction is when i did it it tracked as £4 through quidco lol
    There is a Money Saving Expert quidclan, next time your on quidco have a look for it

    i had major problems with them and when i got through to customer services i got a load of abuse. i eventually went to head office who said they would sort things and send a letter of appology and the free dvd but ive had neither.
    an awful company to deal with and i wont be using them again thats for sure

  • I stupidly forgot to cancel my trial and was charged about £13 as I opted for the apparently 'better' service. Never got any of the films in the top ten, very **** choice of titles, and despite complaining twice I have received the same bog standard email! grrrrrrrrr.

    Definitely don't sign up if they're part of MyMovieStream - they're awful!
  • Signed up for free trial and ten days in still nothing! Cancelled it after this. No free DVD, surprise surprise. Should have known better, used Mymoviestream before and they took money out of my account AFTER I had cancelled:mad:! Think I'll stick to LoveFilm

    This is the response I got eventually today after telling them about all the bad press on here and threatening to report them to watchdog!!!

    Thank you for your recent email with regards your Wilkinson Plus DVD Rentals account.

    We can confirm that your account is now cancelled and no further discs will be sent out to you.

    As a a gesture of goodwill, I have refunded the payment taken on 24th June 2008, with no admission to liability.

    A refund will usually reach your credit/debit card account within 14 working days after it being processed, however, this is also dependent on the processing speed of your card issuer.

    If the refund is still not showing as available funds after 14 working days we advise that you contact your card issuer.

    If you have any further queries, please call Customer Support free on 0808 141 0405 (10am-5pm Mon-Fri) or email us again at customerservice@dvdrental.wilkinsonplus.com

    I'm always a bit wary of signing up for trials with companies who say they won't take payment so I got myself a prepaid credit card and have a couple of quid on it. That way if they try to take anything they won't get it!
