    I read the first few posts and signed up, I didn't realise there were any problems. Once realising people were having problems i checked my bank account and lo and behold the amount for £14,47 has been debited from my account. I am really angry, i tried to phone but they are closed untill monday i have sent an email but won't get a reply untill then either. I wish i read a few more posts then i wouldn't have signed up. I have cancelled my subscribtion and have removed all dvds from my list.

    It is ridiculous that they say they wont take any money but take it anyway!:mad: I am a little worried they may take more each month even though i've cancelled, does anyone know if I can phone my bank and ask them to stop them taking further payments?

    By the sounds of things it isn't looking too promising for a refund. I suggest the OP edit his post so no more people sign up without knowing what kind of company they are dealing with.

    :eek: Been trying to contact the DVD Rental side of Wilkinson for several weeks with NO REPLY, so contacted the main Wilkinson Company and it transpires that THEY (Wilkinson's) are aware of the Free DVD fiasco and are currently looking in to their DVD Rental partners on this issue ................. though they could not give me a definitive answer as to whether or not we/I might finally receive the (not so) FREE DVD title!:mad:


    The Rental Company is trying to hide behind an ambiguous interpretation of their T&C's ...... "You must have a Minimum of 15 Title in your List" ........... They seem to NOT be counting New Releases OR Future Titles, even though you can add them to your list, but instead seem to be insisting that YOUR list is made up of available titles!


    I personally had a list of 40+ titles, made up for these new titles, etc ............ but only two where available and so I put these at the top of my list and subsequently received them ............. but after returning them I was advised that my list (though still holding over 40 titles) did not have enough currently available titles in it and to add some to it!


    As they had nothing else for me to add (that was of interest to me!) and my local rental shop had a much better offer on, with loads of much newer titles, available then & there, I closed the Wilkinson's account, removed my list and that appears to be that ................ 'I failed to follow their T&C's'! .... by NOT keeping a list of 15 AVAILABLE Titles, even though I had closed the account!!!!! SHOULD THEIR T&C's STATE [U]AVAILABLE[/U] as part of this condition???


    If you are still thinking of taking up this offer, you will have to bear in mind that your LIST will have to have 15 Currently Available titles in it .............. whether or not you wish to watch/receive them, otherwise they will consider you to have not conformed to their T&C's covering this offer!


    Then bear in mind that if you then chose to close your account, you will not get your FREE DVD ............. even though the original offer makes it seem as if you will!

    Next regarding PAYMENT .............. be warned here too ................... even if you cancel before the 'FREE TRIAL' has finished, they still seem to be taking payment and then leaving it up to YOU to chase them up for a refund ............... which you should get back ................. EVENTUALLY! .............. and do not expect a pleasant welcome on the phone if you call them up ............... Seems to me that the CARE part is definatly missing from their Customer Care team !!!


    Whilst the DVD Rental company is separate to Wilkinson Plus .................. it is still using the Wilkinson's name and accredited to them and as such I personally feel that this fiasco over the Free DVD title will cause some harm to the Wilkinson name, so expect soon either a major shake up over this offer OR a parting of company between these two companies!:confused:

    YES, I received my 'FREE' rentals to start with, all be they OLD (over 2 years since release) ones ................... BUT no FREE DVD Title to keep, as per the original offer!:rolleyes:


    So whilst the OFFER is not just a free rental period of two weeks, but a Free DVD to keep as well ''no matter if you keep your subscription after the TRIAL or not'', ........... IF you cancel, then DO NOT expect the FREE DVD as well!

    No free DVD for me either they said my rental list contained less than 15 titles. I'm sure I had over 15 titles in my list, but I cleared the list when I cancelled to stop them from sending further discs, which is another trick to try and drag you outside your cancellation period so you get charged for a month. They never received a penny from me and I rented one free DVD, which took one week to arrive. I would never use them again for anything and would advise others to avoid.

    Its very poor all round and reflects very badly on Wilkinsons as a brand.

    I got my dvd but I didn't delete my list before I cancelled, just requested the cancel and you have so many days to return the dvd's you have at home.

    Followed the T&C's .............. TO THE LETTER

    First sent back the first (and only) 2 DVD's that they sent to me.

    Then waited for them to show up as RETURNED on my account.

    Next after checking they had them back, followed the 'Close your Account' link and carried out their instruction.

    Next waited for CONFIRMATION that my account had been closed.

    Then 2 days later went in to my account (was still able at that time) and deleted my list .................. JOB DONE!!!

    Then logged in each day after to check status and was finally DENIED access (as in NO ACCOUNT ANY MORE) another couple of days after that.

    SO ........................ NO REASON (on their part) for NOT sending the free DVD?

    So the Con-voluted episode GOES on ................ WILL email them again from Monday, each and every day ...................... Perhaps they might find the time then to finally reply!
