I've heard that Barclaycard has now bought Egg. Does that mean I shouldn't apply to Egg now as I was turned down in Feb? Or is he change over still in progress?

    I think I'm running out 0% cards!

I don't think this is correct - Barclaycard have bought Goldfish who in turn owned Morgan Stanley.

Egg is owned by Citibank, a large american bank and they bought it from Prudential.

You're right, I must have mis-read! Hopefully that will bode better for my application to Egg!

I'm now seeing (out of interest as much as anything) how far I can push this as a few (!) credit applications/declines won't really affect me for the next 2 years and have now applied for :

    Nationwide Gold Card : Referred
Amex Platinum Cash Back : Referred (definately don't hold out much hope)
Barclaycard Platinum Cashback : Instant Accepted
Ulster Gold Card : Got to the last page and was told there's a problem with the server and to try again at a later date!!!!

    Update :

Barclaycard now arrived with a £14990 credit limit (why it's not a round £15k is baffling me though)

Nationwide : Refused and you can't appeal! "...and our decision is final" in the letter!

    Amex : Still no news

Ulster : Have not yet re-tried.
    Best Regards,

    V

i wouldn't worry over tesco, i have had all the cards under the sun, never missed a payment, can always get mbna 0% cards and halifax (had a variety of halifax ones, one a year really) and never have a problem with any other companies, but can i get a tesco card... NO, not ever, been declined every time i have tried, prob once a year for three years. they are the only company to turn me down!

    Hi,

    I have the following cards:-

    Halifax One - Limit 5k Balance £2.5k
    A&L Visa - Limit 5k Balance 0
Egg Money Limit £1500 Balance £100 cr
    Co-Op Gold - Limit 3k Balance 0
    Natwest - Limit £1200 Balance 0
    Argos: Limit 1200 Balance £25

Balance transfer rate on the Halifax is due to expire next month and would like to apply for a new card.

At the end of the December I moved house and I was abit late in registering for the Electoral on my new address. Received letter from City Council to say I will on WEF 01/03/08,

Do you think will it be OK to apply for a new card?

    Thanks
    M
