Does anyone have any ideas/tips on how to remove wood chip wall paper. I have heard that it is a nightmare to get off the walls, so any tips from any experts would be grateful.
Nice Shoes & Expensive Designer Handbags, are my downfall!

Hiya
The best thing you could borrow/buy is a steamer! I shifted a whole kitchen covered in Artex with one so woodchip will be a piece of cake:drool:  Timberlake Hussy Clique Member No 3  :drool:0 -
No experience of wood chip, but we've had a nightmare with some washable, kids type of paper, that wouldn't steam off or scrape off with usual scrapers/soapy water.
In Wilkinsons, we found a special scraper, that is also used to remove paint off windows and for removing difficult wallpaper! It actually has a sharp, replacable blade which easily got the top layer off our paper, allowing us to use the usual soap/water/scraper on the backing. Can't remember exactly what it was called but it was around £4-5.00. U'll find it with the usual wallpaper scrapers etc. Its FAB!!!(It also has a long handle, which OH said was v. helpful!) I'll ask him the name of it (can't at moment as he's at the footy!!!!):rolleyes:20p Saver Club #33 60p/£100

This is a copy of my post on another thread:-
Anything that you can score through the paint with. A good wire brush will do it. Score it as much as possible then soak it with water as hot as you can stand, let it soak for 5 mins then repeat another couple of times before trying to strip it. Don't be impatient,in all decorating, preperation is80% of the battle and the scoring and soaking well will reap its rewards. Don't try and soak too big an area in one go or it will dry out too quickly and you need to be scraping while it's still soaking wet. If it starts getting harder, slap more water on.
Good luck. although you shouldn't need it....:D0 -
well Ive done this one many a time, (DONT) use a steamer just yet, go to a diy place and get a scorer its a triangular plastic thing with a spiked wheel in each corner run this quite vigorously over the paper to penetrate it, then use a steamer, If you use a steamer without the scoring You wil BLOW the plaster off the wall, then just scrape off as usual.0

They are OK but make sure to score the wallpaper first or you will blow
the plaster of the wall.
