    Noone interested in a protest/petition then ?

What's the f*cking point? The peasants have always been screwed over by those in power.
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life. :)

I have submitted a petition on the 10 Downing St. Site .

Please sign it and forward it to as many people as possible .

If you click on the link below it will take you to the site , where you will be able to add your signature/support .

    http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/Appalled/AqF4YrEUADWPC2VsHHAtd9a

    Your petition reads:

We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to re-think the
abolition of the 10p tax band

We support the efforts of those MP's who are attempting to
reverse the effects of the abolition of the 10p tax band . We
are appalled that this government is forcing the poorest
section of society to subsidise the tax cuts for everyone else
    .

Its not been approved yet. Obviously they are having a Sunday Morning Lie In:rotfl:

How do you determine if you will be better of worse off?

    That's easy...

Ask yourself the following question; Do I live in the UK?

If your answer is YES, then you will be worse off.

    Hi

I don't understand this tax business at all so could someone let me know if I'm going to be any better off?

I am 35 full time employed £14k per year, husband full time employed £14500 per year, two kids (10 & 15) and entitled to around £16 per year tax credits! oh and a mortgage (90k)

Will I be any better off?

You should, at least, be getting the full family element of the CHILD TAX CREDIT award - I think it's about £545.
  • It's time to use:- https://www.faxyourmp.com

And for those people that say "what's the f*cking point", this works. I've used it a few times before, and always get a reply from my MP, and my opinion is always heard and always counts.

    Do something, or stop moaning.

That's what I suggested in Post #40 yesterday!

  • As the saying goes the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. This government is shambolic, they will try and get away with anything.

As a result i have to work more to reach that 18.5k mark, just so as i am not losing out. Or i could raise some kids get child credit and be better off. I don't think so as kids cost an arm and a leg.

Everything else is going up, but my wages might decrease because of the new tax rules. Even if the company i work for offers a 2.5% wage rise, i might not be better off.
