Is it just me, or are there others having massive problems with their Kauping Edge applications ?
I applied around 10th March !!, on 11th of March they sent me this email
Date: Tue, 11 Mar 2008 06:47:22 +0000
From: noreply@kaupthing-edge.co.uk
Subject: Your Kaupthing Edge Savings Account application

Dear yyyyyy
Congratulations, your application for a Kaupthing Edge savings account has been successful.
You will shortly receive an email from us with details of your new account number and sort code.
Since the non-arrival of the promiced email, I have exchanged about 12 emails with them asking for the sort code and account number to enable me to deposit a large sum. Firstly, they thought that I should phone them at my expense, then they thought that I should be beside my house phone so that they could phone me. I've emailed the parent cpmpany Kaupthing in Iceland to ask that they improve the lack of service and have not received a reply. Last Thursday, Kaupthing Edge ( UK) emailed me to say
"Apologies for the delay, we have had a small backlog in forwarding peoples details to them.
I have investigated your account for you, and will manually send these details onto you by the end of tomorrow".
4.5 days have now passed and I still haven't received my promiced sort code and account number.
My relatively large savings have been languishing in a poor interest account for a month now, so any advice on what I could do to finally get Kaupthing Edge to accept my money would be appreciated

It sounds like they have been absolutely overwhelmed with applications.
All you can do is bear with it, I think.0 -
Mine was quick. I applied on Friday evening and received my acceptance email this morning. Hopefully the letter will arrive in the next few days with my account details and password. As DocProc says, they were probably overwhelmed at the time.0

Mine was sorted within about 10 days (I applied about 3 weeks ago - certainly after 10th March). I had the first email almost immediately and then a second with the account number and sort code about 3 days later, followed by the password for their internet site about a week after that. I moved £10k in from my current account as soon as I had access to the online account (last Monday) and it was there by Wednesday.0

I can understand that they are overwhelmed wiith applications, but surely sending me the promiced email ( which some others received after 3 days ) is much less time consuming than exchanging 10 emails with me asking me to phone and deploying their staff time to attempt phoning me countless times ?. I honestly am beginning to wish my husband hadn't recommended Kauphing to me, and my savings could have been tucked away nicely with ICICI by now. I'll give them until Friday, then the money goes to India.0

Is there some reason why you cannot phone Kaupthingy then? (01159) 836331
It's early days of course, but so far the service I've received from KE has been excellent. I only wish I could say the same about ICICI :rolleyes:People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0 -

I think this must be the answer as I applied on a Sunday evening two weeks ago and was very pleased with how easy it all was. My account was up and running in less than seven days.0 -
" Is there some reason why you cannot phone Kaupthingy then? "
Yes there are 4 reasons
1. They did not provide me with a free-phone number
2. I am very rarely beside a phone to catch their calls
3. I opened an "internet" account to avoid phone banking due to
4. My verbal and aural communicating skills are limited
and no, I don't feel like discussing my reasons with Kaupthing. I do not wan't to be treated as a special case, I only want them to send me details ( as they said they would do on 11th March ) of a sort code and account number via. email0 -

Ditto. I rang them due to not being able to log on. We exchanged security questions and then they re-sent an email containing my details. I was on the phone to them for less than three minutes and the email was in my inbox before I put the phone down. Excellent service.
For matters like this, this is why they provide the phone service0 -

I've been having similar problems with ICICI.
I applied 8th May and received an email saying they would take 2 days to verify my ID.
After several phone calls and emails I finally received the email for me to send my £1 cheque to open the account on 28th May.
2 days somehow became 20 days.0
