That's the kind of thing Stu would do - there would be a pool table and mini-bar in there before you could blink, not to mention a huge TV and an assortment of games consoles. He thinks he's 17, not 37.

I have just managed to get on my photobucket account. Tried to put a piccie on here, clicked the pic icon added url, and it came up with a square and a cross in corner. What am i doing wrong?
In your photobucket account it will give you a selection of codes to copy. Copy the very bottom one starting with and paste it straight into a post.

You don't need to click on the picture icon on here if you are posting a photo from photobucket - if you look under the photo on photobucket, there will be a few different links - choose the one that says IMG Code - I think it copies the link to your clipboard as soon as you click on it, but if not, highlight the whole thing (it should start '

Thanks :)

I am trying to ring the only architect I found near here but it has been engaged every time I've tried. Either they are incredibly busy, or the phone is off the hook. Back to the drawing board.....lol.

Snags there is a scheme called 'Architect in the house' run by RIBA. If you google Architecture Week 2008 you should find details of this year's. For a donation of £40 to Shelter a local architect will come out and weigh up your house for you. Worth a google I think. HTH XX El4L

EDIT So sorry I was looking at last years and it looks like they have stopped doing it  . RIBA might be able to help with name of local architect though.

Got through......he's coming round to have a look at the house on Thursday to have a look at the feasibility of what we want to do......gulp!

He seems like a nice guy - gave me lots of info about costs etc. Apparently his fees for drawing up the plans are approximately £500 + expenses + VAT, then there will be planning consent which will cost £150, and then assuming planning permission is granted, building regs fee of £110 + VAT, then if the extension goes ahead a building fee of £320 + VAT.

So about £1300 in total roughly.

But still, that is less than estate agency fees.... :)
