I don't post on here particularly often, but I do think that a lot of people take their inspiration from you. I think that you are actually doing really well - yes your focus has moved slightly from reducing debt at all costs, to reducing debt whilst maintaining a balance.

You've taken on loads, and are doing something really positive in your course & training with CAB to continue being an inspiration to others long after you have cleared your debt.

You certainly hsven't let anyone down at all, and there will always be people who will criticise whatever you do. The important thing is that you are comfortable with your decisions. I think it would be really sad if you stopped posting and updating your diary, but I'm sure everyone would hopefully respect your decision.

  • Hi IA I lurk on here mostly but I just wanted to add that (unless you are talking about another thread where you received criticism) I didn't take the posts that didn't agree with you about the debt as critiscism I actually took it as they care enough to post alternatives to your money management (doesn't mean they are right or wrong) and from that you can take what you like and leave the rest. The whole point of being on this forum for me is taking advice and sharing tips. I suppose its the way you have taken them comments and I was wondering if you are a perfectionist so have taken the comments as criticism? As I said it may be other things that have bothered you that I do not know about and obviously it is your decision to 'retire' for a little while and I hope you are ok with that.

Your diary proves that even people who are good with money and budget they can still CHOOSE to spend money and use credit as long as you know everything that is going on and you use the credit wisely. So don't take the comments harshly try and see them as constructive.

    Take care

I am going to jump in here as well, despite my usual lurking.

I really don't think anyone meant to criticise, I think it was more concern for you. Many people here have watched you battle your way out of a situation, and really are rooting for you to succeed! They just want to help you, and making suggestions is perhaps the only way they can.

By opening up on this forum, you have inspired a lot of affection, as people feel they have got to know you. I am sure you will have plenty of people sad to see you step away for a while, but I am sure they will wish you and your family all the best, whatever decisions you make.

Good luck for the future, even if it doesn't include MSE!

ps. Just wanted to add, don't EVER apologise.

Noooooooooooooooo....please don't resign. Just have a break and come back when you're ready. I love reading about you and your family and can't believe how 'sorted' you are at such a young age.
Take no notice of anyone else who doesn't agree with what you do/say etc Just tell em to pee off! It's your life and s*d em! Have a MSE holiday and pop back on when you're ready as you will be missed by soooooo many of us.
  • I have to agree with busygirl - the decision is ultimately yours (obviously ;)) but please don't resign - an mse holiday may be all you need. I actually admire the way you are spending now - and I don't care what the doubters say - your current spending is controlled because you always have a plan to repay it - and generally in the fastest, cheapest way. Whatever you decide please let us see your finished tattoo!
    Take care Sarah.

is it something in the air at the moment?...seems to be a few folks taking a break for whatever reason...I've felt it a little myself but was putting it down to the weather/kids breaking up etc...

I hope you continue to post because I'd like to hear how the band goes.

IF not, thanks for being a beacon in the darkness when I first started posting - you'll be missed.

    take care

Hi IA just having my usual daily lurk and wanted to add my support to your decision. I absolutely love reading your debt diary and look forward to your updates immensely. However I also remember becoming a bit fed up with the debt clearing / comments on here at times and I had time out too. You must do what is right, you know where you are debt wise and you'll get through this just as you did before.

Take care sar, I'll miss you and now I won't get to see how your tattoo turns out!!
