Don't forget as well that although you are saving 20% for the tax man, by the time you have deducted your expenses, it might not be anything like that amount. As Gemmzie says, your Egg card is a one off expense, as is a lot of your demo kit.
You don't want to earn TOO much anyway, or you'll lose your tax credits!0 -

As long as you scrape enough to make the hours and pay the nursery for the CAB training your in profit, the real payback and potential long term salary jump is in the long term plan.... Plus you did say you wanted 'adult' company:rotfl: You seem happier being busier.
I am a lot happier being busier. This week has been especially manic with my starting the CAB and having 2 parties. But I've thrived off it. There hasn't been a single moment I've been bored or thought 'Oh god I wish I could do something..'. I feel SO much happier and I've met so many new people, it's been great! The only trouble is it seems I've hardly spent 5 mins with Ste and the girls, even though I have, but this week has been especially busy so I'm sure it'll settle down once everythings in a routine. The girls love nursery and I'm enjoying doing something with my life.Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

Just want to wish you all the best with the CAB and the training.
I work as a debt councellor for a charity and I have been doing it for 6 years now and I absolutely enjoy it.
In my previous life I worked as a sales rep in the foundry trade - but was i glad to give it up and work with "real people" and feel that I am doing something that is extremely rewarding.
All the best :T :T :T :TI am a debt counsellor working in the voluntary sector - we don't charge our clients for the work we do!0 -
I think I am confused..
The 64.30 was the profit you made on the sales from your first party(or 2) is that right? The other money from customers is just the payment for their goods not profit? So how much do you get from that 309.80? Surely that is what is added to the 64.30 in the savings and it is 20% of that which you put aside for the taxman and have to pay your NI out of. The rest of the money should pay off the Egg as it is just what it cost YOU to buy the goods. Am I on to something here or not as I know I am still confused. Tell me to shut up if I am talking out my erse. I just don't think you need to put 74 quid aside for Mr Darling and chums. Well if I am reading that right. It is Friday and I do have a cold.0 -

To be fair I made it more complicated for myself by getting the egg card involved... BUT it helped to get my feet off the ground and now I'm going to learn from that and simplify it next time round. I only have a £350 'credit limit' with AS so any orders over that amount won't go through without payment (ie if they want to pay of delivery.)
Don't even ask me how I'm going to work out my accounts :rotfl:
Going to spend some time and go through every party/order I've had and then get them down in some form of spreadsheet.Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

Girthy! :rotfl: I think that was the word I was looking for when I said 'ouch'. Or perhaps I meant 'knobbly'."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250
