I think this is a good tip - basically most shampoos and shower gels aren't that different to one another if all you are interested in is cleansing - and diluting to taste makes a lot of sense. I wouldn't recommend adding too much water though. If you dilute it too much you just might dilute the preservative as well and then it would go mouldy.Student of the science of beauty0 -

Hi Harryharp,
I am totally converted to this stuff now http://www.elementalbeauty.co.uk/ it's a mineral make-up and the foundations come in two formulations, 'Soft Focus' and the one I have tried, the 'Healing Foundation' which contains Allantoin to help heal breakouts.
Be warned though - it's an addictive site.
Might order some sample sizes when I run out of the 17 foundation- which I haven't tried yet:D0 -
EagerLearner wrote: »Hi Geri, I liked the idea of the Aqueous cream, however as I understand it, it has SLS in it? Apparently SLS Sodium Lauryl Sulphate is used to strip engines? I want to understand more about it, but see so many things saying 'SLS free' now...
Aqueous cream ingredients:
About this product. The name of this product is aqueous cream BP. The ingredients that make up the cream are cetostearyl alcohol, sodium lauryl sulphate, white soft paraffin, liquid paraffin, purified water and the preservative phenoxyethanol. Aqueous cream BP is available in a plastic container of 500g and 100g.

Apparently:
Sodium Lauryl Sulphate started its career as an industrial degreasant and garage floor cleaner.
Sodium Lauryl Sulphate is such a caustic cleanser that it actually corrodes the hair follicle and impairs the ability to grow hair.
Sodium Lauryl Sulphate is routinely used in clinical studies deliberately to irritate the skin so that the effects of other substances can be tested.
(...)has a low molecular weight and so is easily absorbed by the body. It builds up in the heart, liver and brain and can cause major problems in these areas.
So I thought that the Aqueous cream may be cheap, but should I risk it...?!
Eager Learner has probably long forgotten posting this but as I have written a post on why you should avoid SLS I couldn't resist commenting.
SLS is not very good for your skin and it is better to avoid it. It isn't that bad though and certainly won't cause heart, liver or brain problems.Student of the science of beauty0 -

Hi again....I have made a good discovery. Tesco's finest self tan exfoliator is so gritty that it left my rather dry legs smooth and silky. £3.50 well impressed.0

Thanks for that Unity. It all looks lovely, if a bit daunting!:o

If you are in any doubt about matching the foundation shade, seriously e-mail Nicola - telling her what shade and make-up you are using and she'll put you on the right track. I haven't ordered any blushers/bronzers since I still have some - - - - - see, I can be a good little moneysaver:rolleyes:, but I bought a foundation, finishing powder and concealer, easily enough to get started and I've since been back for some eye shadow. Some people hear voices, some see invisible people. Terry Pratchett comes out with some gems doesn't he? I'm just hoping this new Alzheimer's drug works and can prevent the loss of such an inventive and hilarious mind.:beer:Some people hear voices, some see invisible people. Others have no imagination whatsoever
