Wow, impressive admin list ticked off, can I hire you for a [STRIKE]lifetime[/STRIKE] few hoursA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Hi all
Just been updating my signature and I'm really pleased with my progress. Seeing the IO part down to £91,910 and the overall balance at £183,050 is just lovely:D
I'm setting myself a new target of getting the IO down to £90k by the end of the year with a stretch target of getting the overall balance down to £180k - it will be really tough but I would love to do it.
I've done a wee bit more investing on the old stocks and shares side and been reviewing my overall holdings. I've always taken a very long term view on my investments (apart from the dabbling I'm doing at the minute) but I must admit to a nano second of 'oh my god' when I see what my holdings were worth five years ago and even one year ago as opposed to what it is worth now but it was just a nano secondMFW Start Date 1.4.08. That's great progress over the last few months, those milestones seem to renew the drive to pay off the mortgage in my opinion.

Hi all
My goodness the board is soooo busy isn't it - I can see lots of lovely new threads but I just haven't had time to read them or pop in and say hi yet.
I set myself what I thought was a smallish task last week and that was to see what my stocks and shares looked like. What I wanted to know down to the last penny was- how much current holdings are they now worth v. what I paid
- how much I have invested in my life in S&S's
- how much profit I have made over the years with buying and selling
Think it will be the weekend now when I next get a chance to look at it so hope to post an update then.
Also just updated my 2009 position on the 2009 MFW thread whereby I plan to OP by £7000. I know I actually need to OP by £10,200 to stay on track for my MFW date but I've got plans ticking over in my little blonde head as to how I can achieve the difference.MFW Start Date 1.4.08. Hi all, just a quickie as I'm supposed to be working;)
The drop in base rate is going to make such a difference for me (my mortgage is actually whatever base rate is) so I'm looking forward to spending time with my spreadsheet over the weekends to see how thing will look and how much I can increase my overpayment by
The other was that in an earlier post I had said that I was going to let me BTL just move to SVR as this was both the easiest and cheapest option at the time. Happily I've just found out that my SVR will drop to 5% in following base rate cut so that means monthly repayments will be cheaper than I was actually paying on official BTL dealMFW Start Date 1.4.08.
