If it of any help to Telewest Blueyonder Broadband users,in the next few months,on a region to region basis,Telewest will be increasing their broadband capacity for all users, and there will be no caps on usage.
Those who pay £17.99 for 512 kbs will see their connection go up to 2 mb,and those paying £25.00 a month for 2mb will see their speed increase to 4mb at no extra cost at all.

Thats good news. I emailed them recently to ask whether they were going to reduce costs or improve the speed as they are currently quite expensive when compared with other providers. They stated no to both questions the lying gits. Here's the press release to support the OP's post. The bit that really interests me and that was missing from the OP's post is this bit:
blueyonder broadband elite
The current 2Mb and 4Mb options will be replaced by a flagship 10Mb service, costing only £35 per month
Upstream speeds will also be increased to 256Kbp/s for the 2Mb service and to 384Kbp/s for the complete and elite services.

See http://www.blueyonder.co.uk/evenfaster for more details about the speed increases.
Also Telewest lauched a comprehensive securty package for all Blueyonder customers call PC Guard. See http://www.blueyonder.co.uk/blueyonder/getContent.jspx?page=services_securitypcguard for more details.0 -

Sorry Kev,as i,m new on here,i didn't know it had been discussed before.
One thing which does annoy me about Telewest, even though i admit that they give a good service,is their failure to promote any programs that may be free for a month, and also the fact that as far back as February,i knew that both they and NTL were joining forces with one another, yet despite me telling the operations manager about it,he said it was nonsense, yet it wasn't.
What i would like to know is,will there be an name change,or higher prices for their tv package.
Glad to know about the shield protection, even though i use Avast, which is brilliant,it may come in handy in the future.0 -
The current 2mb price is £35 and 4mb is £50 - These will both increase to 10mb with the price being leveled at £35. People currently paying £50 will see their bills reduced in October.0
