We had this yesterday as well with cramy mash, carrots and broccoli and the cooking juices turned into a nice gravy. I'll probably get unceremoniously chucked out of OS but I don't have (or want) a SC and did mine in a casserole dish in the oven, seared all over outside first then into casserole with some beef stock, onion, celery and carrot then into the oven for about 3 hours. Did do other stuff in oven while cooking so not entirely frivolous with oven heat!0

Afternoon.
I have a large piece of brisket that I bought from the farm shop the other day for £5.60. I am going to do a roast dinner one day this week.
Does anybody have any recipes/ideas of what to do with the left overs. I was thinking about beef curry with some, however, would like a good recipe for a beef curry using coconut milk.
ThanksCat :wave:0 -

Make sure you cook it slowly then as it can be quite tough otherwise.
Cooked right it will be delish.0 -
I would slice and bag in gravy and refreeze for another easy meal.To repeat what others have said, requires education, to challenge it,requires brains!FEB GC/DIESEL £200/4 WEEKS0

I like to make tom yum noodle soup with leftover meat. I use thai taste tom yum paste (about 1-2 tbsp for 2 people, plus 750mls water) then add veg and left over meat, serving over noodles. YUM.0

Brisket is a very tough meat.
I speak from us buying it because it was a cheap meat. It went in the bin as we did not like it at all.The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0 -
Brisket is best suited to crockpot cooking, I find - the one time I roasted it it was like leather, but in the crockpot it just falls apart."Save £12k in 2019" #120 - £100,699.57/£100,0000

I do mine in the slow cooker (about 8 hours) then shred it all up, add some gravy (not too much, just enough to coat all the meat) and return back to slow cooker for an hour or however long you've got. We then have hot beef sandwiches on French baguettes - absolutely delicious. A 1kg piece easily does 2 meals for 4 people and we are big eaters. This is one of our favourites!0
