ooh that is my plan for this year - have started saving jars...
just need to find a recipe, take a deep breath and give it a shot when the time comes!0 -
i use it for pudding cakes - cooked pastr base, plonk on the fruit, i use it still frozen, top with bog standard victoria sponge cake batter, or a cake mixture with ground almonds is nice, bake it, and it makes a great pudding - or moist cake.0

Hi
I have quite a bit of frozen fruit - the kind you buy from Tesco for smoothies etc. I have fruits of the forest and cherries - all mixed in together.
Thriftlady has got me addicted to preserving :j but I don't think I can use them for jam can I? Would love it if I could :T
What can I do with them? They have been hanging around for ages and I just want to use them up now!
Thanks0 -
crumbles and pies - perfect for winter comfort food!)

I made some fab jam from frozen fruits, I think they were summer fruits and forest fruits and it was deliciousMortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0

Oh fantastic
So the general consensus is to follow the recipe as if you were using fresh fruit? No more sugar, but may need to boil off some of the liquid.
Thanks everyone ::0 -
On closer inspection they are all blackberrys or cherries.
So, have scoured my RC book just in case I find any other inspiration and have made blackberry and apple vodka, and will use the rest for cherry and blackberry jam tomorrow (Cherry Berry Jam sounds better though). Think I might need jam sugar though because they are both low in pectin?0 -
blend with natural yog add sugar if needs and allowed!! throw some granola over for a tasty breaky0

Got 2 boxes of frozen "summer fruits" from asda. We had some with custard but its very bitter. I sprinkled on sugar, but then it was a mixture of bitter and gritty
Is there a secret to this that I don't know ?
