My SIL always used frozen berry bags to make crumble. Didn't need to defrost, straight into the oven. Always came out delicious.

Any recipe which calls for fruit can be made with frozen fruit.
also, how about heating some, liquidising it, possibly sweetening a little and using the result as an interesting change from apple sauce with meat?

I'd use the smoothie mixes to make ice cream

mixed Berries I'd use to make a variation on Summer Pudding

  • Make ( or buy:o ) mini meringue nests and fill each with cream or natural/fruit yoghurt and fill with the fruit for a posh looking dessert.
You could puree a little of the fruit to drizzle over the above to make it look really special

You could cook up the red fruit with sugar to sweeten, then thicken with corn starch. Serve warm, at room temperature or cold with some whipped cream on top.

I make summer fruit muffins with frozen berries - just got a blueberry muffin recipe from the internet and substituted the blueberries with the frozen fruit
    Yummy!

I can recommend the summer fruit muffins too. I have made both blueberyy or raspberry, much nicer than the double chocolate the rest of the family like.

I have some frozen rasp in the freezer, they should've been used by end of Feb, don't know whether I dare use them now or not!

Thanks BeeBeeBee, I did think I would probably be ok using them. I think we take too much notice of dates sometimes.
  • If I see reduced or on offer frozen fruit I use it to make jam - always turns out lovely too!
