What do you think of these A-Levels?

I am student at Warwick University studying Accounting and Finance, I did A Levels in Maths, Further Maths, Economics, ICT and General Studies.
But at the end of the day, you need to pick subjects that you will enjoy studying, as you're going to be doing it for the next couple of years. I agree with other posters suggesting that it wouldn't be the best idea to do both A Level Economics and Business Studies, it would probably weaken your chances of getting into a 'higher league' university. I think Economics is probably more highly regarded, but I have friends on my course that took Business Studies - so basically look at the course content and consider which one you are more interested in.0 -
will they let you do economics and business studies? didnt think most did because there is such an overlapYes Your Dukeiness

I'd go with Maths, Further Maths, Business and Economics though as far as I'm aware what you study isn't much of a concern at Manchester unless specifically stated in the entry requirements. If you're considering Oxbridge, I certainly wouldn't do Law or Accounting at A level.Well I looked at the Subjects that would go well with my courses it said...
Accounting
Business
I.C.T
Economics
Politics
Law

Hmmm...
I am thinking of going University of Manchester and doing a course there in Finance which I need AAB or a Business Studies course whch I need ABB. English is one of my weakest subjects and a subject I find rather boring, I am only predicted a "C" init at GCSE. My conexxtions advisor said that Accounting,Business,Economics and Maths were a good choice but He did suggest "English" but I said "No" because I find it boring. He also said that Accounting,Business,Economics,Maths are all strong and solid subjects unlike some subject like Physcology,Geology,Critical Thinking, and many others.
I wouldn't study English in this combination, especially as you don't enjoy it. On the other hand, do try and improve your standard of written English, otherwise this will hold you back, both at university and in your career. Don't just say that you're weak at it; make a conscious decision to improve over the next two years.0 -
Yeh, My college "Ashton 6th Form College" have gave me a place to study Accounting,Business,Economics and Mathematics, All I need is 5A*-C GCSES and a Grade "B" or higher at GCSE for Accounting and Maths which I already have because I took my Maths GCSE early and got a "B", now I am going for a "A". I have chosen Uni of Manchester to goto because it is a very good university it's in The Times league table of Unis and it is close to where I live.
I may also drop one of them subjects in the 2nd Year if I find it difficult.
How are Economics and Business very similar? Economics is basically about the Governments money and Business studies is about Your Money and firms/businesses?
Thanks

A level business studies includes stuff on economics and accounting  (not in as much depth as the full economics and accounting A levels though)
And no, economics is every level including personal economics, and business studies includes things like employment law, company law and contract law too.0 -
Cheers Guys, I have got my college interview tomorrow and I am going to tell them to accept my 4 A-Levels off...

I just by chance managed to pick up on this thread.
It looks like you've been quite lucky in what you got to choose. I hadn't got the open of accounting or maths (mainly because i got a C and needed a
