• I tried the original Excel version again in OpenOffice 2.2 running on Ubuntu Linux (Feisty Fawn Beta) and it seems to work ok, although I did nothing more than open it, close the error message that appeared after enabling the macros and click on a button. Maybe someone else can verify?
• HI Could I have a copy of the food planner please.
• Andrea,

would anyone at the MSE tower be interested in my monthly food planner?
Yes please.Monthly food planner would be great. This is the 1 remaining area where I might just be able to save some money to bring our budget back into the green.

Feb  Grocery Challenge £250

• Just completed the budget planner and as always it came out in the red.SCARY!!!!!Trying to reduce expenditure wherever possible but still living beyond means and relying on credit cards to the tune of about £200 a month. No holidays(FOR 9 YEARS) and nothing in the fun and frolics column apart from the £10.99 direct debit for the TV licence.Maybe I could reduce the food shopping further? We end up spending around £70 a week on this which includes all food, toiletries, cleaning products and add ons through the week such as fresh milk and bread. Is this amount the norm for a family of 4?One of my 2 kids is 16 so realy we are a family of 3 adults and 1 child. We used to spend about £100 a week but I have already tried to reduce the grocery bill as far as possible.ANY COMMENTS AN YOUR OWN AVERAGE FOOD SHOPPING BILL OR HOW TO SAVE FURTHER WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

OUR INCOME IS GOING DOWN IN APRIL TOO BECAUSE OF THE NEW 4X4 TAX RULES SO HELP AND IDEAS DESPERATELY NEEDED.(NOT OUR 4X4 BY THE WAY,JUST HUBBYS WORK VEHICLE,MORE OF A TRUCK REALLY BUT STILL WILL EFFECTIVELY REDUCE HIS TAX FREE EARNINGS ALLOWANCE BY £3,500 A YEAR.

I asked the original message poster for this too and e-mailed them with the request but have had no reply yet. There are loads of folk asking for this on this thread, I wonder if anyone has had a reply?
I am asuming that as the original post is quite old(SOMETIME IN 2005) the monthly food planner must not be available now.
I have seen reference elsewhere to the Money Saving Old Style message boards.Perhaps we should try there for tips on food budget planning.
I AM POPPING OVER THERE FOR A NOSEY RIGHT NOW.

Hi everyone - hoping that the spreadsheet in my signature can help you out in terms of planning finances and budgeting, it's like part 2 to Martin's one. It has a savings section, a debt section and a log for all your 'Frills' spending, which is where most money dissapears to without us knowing...

It also has a Grocery Challenge section for those of you who are also doing the Grocery Challenge each month, so you can list how much you want to spend max on your food shopping per month and then see the totals as you go along, to see whether the belt needs to be tightened!

Hope it helps someone x
