I need a handset with an organiser

The ordinary handsets do have a calender, but not functional as an organiser,as in keeping a few more names/details in each column, time should be specified, notes to take, to set up tasks.I use sony erricson T160 at the moment,it is not enough,I need more space,I dont mind the price if I get my mobile to use as an organiser. I think the Treo 650 seems fine but now that is out of stock I have to look for something similar, with a wider keypad and screen.meher0

Click Here for the M500 (I-mate JAM) there are an assortment of tariffs. Using the pre installed MS Pocket Excel you could create as many columns as you wished to store information. However, the contacts program has an incredibly large information range anyhow so you would probably use that.
This phone is cheapest on the T-Mobile network if you are in a position to change to them, the U-Fix £15.00 deals are the cheapest.0 -
The Treo 600 and Treo 650 are available from Orange and are brilliant Smartphones (this means that are a phone and a Palm device in one). I have had the 600 for more than a year and it is really good and my husband now has the 650 which has a few new features. Phone, Organiser, Excel, Word, Email, Internet ++++. You need to go into an Orange Business store as not all of the stores keep this model. If you go to the Orange website and look for a store it has a key which tells you whether it is a business centre or not.
Good luck.0 -
Any Symbian phone will do this for you, there are loads of programs to choose from to further enhance the phone. The 6680 is a good one with built in office functions etc0

This might be useful for you. I am on orange and have just got a free upgrade from a SonyEricsson K700i after telling them I was leaving. They gave me a SonyEricsson P910i smartphone which so far has been excellent, it has an organiser and the ability to view and edit MS documents. It uses the Symbian OS, and has all the bells and whistles of a modern phone too (mp3, camera, speakerphone) even comes with a free SE bluetooth earpiece from Orange. Worth a look.0

SonyEricsson P910i looks like it has a wide screen whihc is what I am looking for.But what is Symbian?-an operating system I guess but is it complicated to use? So when I call orange I should tell them that I need any handset with symbian-right?Today I called orange and asked for treo 650 and it was not in stock,so need to give a call after researching on something similar-and sony erricson p910 looks good but I would like to know if it is easy to set up and use. hope this is not complicated, the whole point of want a mobile and organiser is to have everything in one and quick and easy to usemeher0

Wouldnt bother asking about Symbian, it's just an Operating system like Windows but designed for smaller devices. I've had the p910i for a few days now, and although it seems a bit confusing at first (like any new thing I suppose), I'm finding it really easy to use now. The screen is a touchscreen, and when you use the stylus (which tucks away into the back of the phone when its not in use) to touch the screen to navigate around, you can fly around the menus really quickly. The virtual keyboard is excellent too, just use the stylus to tap the letters on a qwerty keyboard that appears on the bottom of the screen, the one on the flip down part is a bit too small to use reliably and quickly. All round though, it seems an excellent device.0

Don't know if anyone stocks it for use on Orange, but the Nokia 6820 integrates with Outlook etc on a PC, and has a full QWERTY keyboard - screen's on the small side, but otherwise its a handy little package : I used one until I got a dedicated Blackberry, and even now continue to use it for the phone function.I really must stop loafing and get back to work...0

i would recommend either my old handset - nec e228 (it was a 3 handset but with the simlock taken off it would be ideal) or motorola v3 - both, as far as ive seen so far have very well built organisers - the motorola you can even connect to a laptop/computer etc and synchronise contact details, arrangements - it most probably is not the only handset with that feature, but while looking you may want to take it into account..._____

If you can get the (I-Mate JAM, MDA Compact, M500) their all the same trust me you wont be dissapointed. If you look after it you simply wont need another device for many years. Do you remember the old Motorla V50 (wings), well this device is 1cm wider, 1.5 / 2.0cm shorter and is nowhere near as thick.
I trust the computer you are using is a Windows XP computer which makes it instantly compatible. It's very much a case of "Better the devil you know", why struggle to decide upon a device eg with a branded operating system sony, nokia or the like to the independant operating systems such as symbian when you can get a powerful device running a system you know & have.0
