  • I've been using https://www.voipcheap.co.uk for about 8 months now, and the prices are going up & up & up!!

Still beats BT & all that, but not as "WOW" as it used to be.

Any new providers doing better deals?

    :)

  • OH BUM!

I was doing the go back button thing to get a memorable number so often and tediously I MISSED the number I was waiting for (694694!) DUH!

thanks for this post though! :)
  • Can anyone recommend a cheap VOIP phone that I can use to receive calls when my computer is switched off?

Also do I need any more equipment other than my ADSL modem in order to use a VOIP service?

Sorry about the questions - I'm new to this type of thing :o !
  • I use https://www.voipcheap.com and find it very good - you put 10 Euros on as credit, this has to be used within 3 months. I then use up this 10 Euros on 0845 numbers etc rather than my home phone, so it's not costing me any extra really as I would have had to pay for those calls anyway.

You then get to call most international landlines FREE from your pc and it also includes USA mobiles!

For incoming calls I use Skype & Yahoo Messanger etc.

  • I'm new to Voip and thanks to what I've picked up from (predominantly) your posts, I now have VoipStunt and Sipgate set up in x-lite2

Much better than running 2 seperate apps, one for inbound and one for outbound.

    Thanks.

  • Hi all

After just finding out the hard way that sipdiscount that i have used for ages are now charging for uk landline calls i decided to swap to voipcheap.com Easy I thought, just change the account details in my pap2 from sipdiscount to voipcheap.com (username&password etc) No such luck, error messages in the admin screen vary from "can't connect to login server" to simply "offline" do they work in a different way to sipdiscount.? I'm on aol which i know sometimes causes ip problems, but i'm not techie and don't know how to check.

    thanks in advance
  • Does it cost the standard rate for someone to call me on my Sipgate number?

Your Sipgate number if you choose an 01 or 02 number is just that an ordinary 01 or 02 number, so whatever it costs your callers to call 01 or 02 numbers that is what they pay.

If the caller uses 18185 then all calls to 01 or 02 numbers are 4 pence for the entire length of the call.

If the caller has Primus Saver 2, then calling the Sipgate in the evening or weekend will cost nothing.

If the caller usues BT then in the evening and weekend it will be the 5.5p for up to one hour.

The 01 and 02 Sipgate numbers are just standard numbers and charged as such.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!
