I'm just about to download and install Sipgate, having read a lot of the reviews about it on this board.

Just before I do .... do I need any special equipement? Eg, on its website it talks about an adaptor and a soft phone. I'm currently on broadband.

Any pointers would be much appreicated.

    Thanks

    Requirements:

    Internet
    Microphone
    Speakers

    THATS IT :D hehe..

Thats all I have, and when my girlfriend is in New Zealand I can call her for free using VOIPBuster and she can call my PC too! (though not for free)

    Tis fantastic

Most USB Skype phones (if not all of them) work as speakers and a microphone. Thats it.

If you dont change yoru normal audio settings with skype open, and play music, it'll come out of your USB Phone, as thats all it is. Speakers and Mic.

So if you can use your phone as your normal audio device by selecting it in your sound properties under control panel > sounds > audio devices tab, then it will work with any software.

If however it is somehow inter-connected with Skype maybe through certain software, then no you won't be able to use it with other software.

Only if you can use it as a normal audio device can it be used with others afaik :)
