Texts sometimes not arriving on my phone on Vodafone PAYG-network issue?

In the last couple of months Texts have been failing to reach me on my mobile phone on Vodafone PAYG. Sometimes theres no problem, other times they dont turn up for days. There also seems to be a problem sending messages sometimes - people aren t receiving them. Vodafone says its a problem with my phone but i'm pretty sure…

December 2009 and I've just met up with a friend who had not received any of the texts I had sent that day. I rang their number and that was fine but no joy on texts. They are able to text me and I receive them. I am with 02 PYG and friend is with Vodafone PYG.
