Texts sometimes not arriving on my phone on Vodafone PAYG-network issue?

In the last couple of months Texts have been failing to reach me on my mobile phone on Vodafone PAYG. Sometimes theres no problem, other times they dont turn up for days. There also seems to be a problem sending messages sometimes - people aren t receiving them.

Vodafone says its a problem with my phone but i'm pretty sure it isn't as it's happening with my friends Vodafone PAYG as well which suggests its a Networ Problem, but maybe just a network problem in this area (nw wa les).

Can anyone throw any light on the matter or, if not, suggest a forum where I might get help. Many thanks

I have a contract phone from Voda and I often don't get my voicemails for hours or sometimes days, these come as texts, as it's a business phone it can be quite annoying as customers think I am ignoring them.

I have asked for support on this but haven't really got any answers, at least you are not alone

Vodafone are disclaiming any resposibility. With enough voices we can pin them to the wall. Anyone else out there who can contribute to this thread?

Personally I've had no problem but my dad, who works for Vodafone, says that there has been quite a bit of an issue with this lately. He tells me it's been sorted, but it seems to be a national problem.

I have a suggestion, Change to Orange or O2 you get a much better rate aswell, when you ring Vodafone to get your PAC they will probably give you something free to make you stop, if enough people do it whilst complaining about texts not getting through you could win both ways

Yes, Vodafone did say they were sorting the problem, they gave a date of March 17. It was better after that but the problem has been kicking-off again in the last few days.
  • Hi all,

I'd like to apologise on behalf of Vodafone for any inconvenience the text message problem has caused and I'd like to update you on the situation.

We had an offical update last week that a fix is being rolled out across all our customers' accounts. The fix was tested on a sample of customers' accounts, and after some further amendments has been proved to work. We are now completing the same actions on all of the other accounts still affected, and so that we can fully monitor this and make sure that the repair doesn't affect any other services the repairs will occur gradually over the next two weeks.

The bulk of customers could be fully up and running again within the next few days, although at the same time it could take longer. The key thing to remember is that you can always get your texts through by performing a manual roam on your handset.

I'd like to thank you for your patience’s.

    Kind Regards

Manual roam doesn't always work either.

I get charged for texts that say sent then immediately fail!

Why have customers not been informed?
My friend thought it was her 'phone so bought a new one!

It's been going on WAY too long now. :naughty:

They say on their forum that it should be rectified at the end of April!!!

Wonder if Martin would be prepared to get involved as it is hardly money saving is it?

Is the media aware of the service Vodafone customers aren't getting?

Seems to me that Vodafone are trying to keep it very hush-hush.....
