    thanks for the advice. how much bark did you need? my play area is roughly same size as yours. did you do it 3" deep?

    co-op have 70l bags for £3.99 and mil gets staff discount, b&q i think is £4.99 for 100l but dont deliver to me and i dont drive

    I used lawnmats, 0.9m x 0.9m cost £16 plus delivery I think.

    Nugget lumps worry me, was what do you do with them all when the kids grow up, at least with bark you can put it on the flower beds, and the lawnmats use as out side door mats.

    nuggets = what to me looks like small lumps of plastic / rubber, ie don't break down, my local Focus has some, colour came off on my hands as well.

    Have you tried you local council parks and gardens. My local one sells bark in bags (bin bagged size) quite cheap

    does anyone know how much depth of bark you need? do you need to dig up the old graas 1st?

    appears my dh got someone to do the job, they turned up at 11.15 and left at 11.40. knocked on door and asked for £130. just been out there and cann see the plastic around the gate, gate doesnt open properly and its not bark its dark black with bits of chippings but mainly sticks in. which i wouldnt think is safe for a toddlers play area?

    Do I need to dig any of the ground out or just dump the bark ontop of the grass? As itll be higher than the rest of the garden and may get kicked over the grass.
