I totally agree with the above post!!
If you want to post and offer help to those who are asking for it then post
If you dont want to post, dont post!
But either way please stop b1tching about it, is very very BORING!!!!!!I am a Mortgage Adviser

I just wanted to say that I find your input invaluable. My fixed rate ended in February and based on the advice on here from a mortgage advisor I didn't bury my head in the sand, was proactive, worked with a great mortgage advisor and got a great deal. I was able to pop on here and ask the stupid questions meaning that I had a good idea of what I was looking for.
Please don't leave, your contribution would be missed and the advice and support that the mortgage advisors give is wonderful. Please don't let a couple of posts put you off.
I'd miss you all! Thanks for the advice Martin! :money:Member no. 920 - Proud to be dealing with our debts0 -

Glad to see you got so much help. I dont think any broker will be leaving the forum. This forum has its own life now, even Martin Lewis could not shut it down without a fight!

Lots of help Dan, it was excellent and having the forum to ask daft questions and learn about mortgages was great. I had a mortgage but am ashamed to say I didn't understand it so the remortgage process was a huge learning curve.
Glad to hear you'll be sticking around! Thanks for the advice Martin! :money:Member no. 920 - Proud to be dealing with our debts0 -
I think it's really good that mortgage brokers give their time freely to help others on here.I do think that sometimes people are rude to the mortgage brokers but thankfully there are not too many of those about.
Regarding mortgage advisors in general I have no qualms with mine.He is fantastic I have used him 3 times now and every deal he has done me has been the best available and he has never charged me a fee.He just gets his commision and he's whole of market...he only made £200 on this deal...I offered to pay him extra as I'm on a lifetime tracker and unless I move will probably not need mortgage again...he refused as he knows I get him business as I recommend him and that if I ever want anything that I will go back to him.
I would never set up a mortgage by myself though as I don't know where to start ...even though I understand about different mortgages...I also don't have the time to sift through all the lenders..so a good broker is invaluable.
I also think the brokers give some very sound advice on here but then it's a shame when we see them arguing with each other.0
