I like posting on here if I can help then good0

Well, I like the folks who post here - they know stuff and try and help...the fact that some are brokers is helpful in keeping us up to date with current information that the papers and news media don't see fit to pass on to us.For what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... I'm forgiving what I've done -AF since June 20070

Brokers are important on here!
anyone can offer advice and support (as they see it!), but it's usually only brokers who come back with hard facts the contribute to sorting all manner of problems..... STAY!! :j0 -

I think us brokers are useful to some on this site. However it is easy to make the mistake of feeling to important because we think we know more. On the whole, good mortgage advice is about listening to your client and finding common sense answers for them. Anybody can do that. Obvioulsy we may know more on the techy side, but still advice is not that hard as long as you have the client in mind.
I think we are doing fine and we should all just get on with helping one another!

I have been posting on this forum for years, it is true there are a lot of people who suck your brains dry then go direct to lenders. But the whole point of the forum is that you help people for free without the intent of financial gain!
As for me, well I'm not scared to admit I've had considerable amounts of business through helping people on the forum. most people who use the site are decent people and if you help them without pursuing for personal gain they will do business with you. if you are any good they will do business with you again and recommend you to their friends.
Its a win win situation, providing the ethos of the site is not abused. Unfortunately, at times these forums can sometimes be a hunting ground where Mortgage Advisers are concerned, and consequently there is a lot of !!!!!ing between them. Its sad really, no wonder Mortgage Brokers are not held in the same regard as solicitors and accountants by the general public, infighting is so pathetic.

MM
I think that is a bit harsh. Below accountants?? :rotfl:
Serioulsy though, I dont think in fighting has anything to do with our rep. Its the old insurance sales side of thing and estate agent based ppl of a few years back.
I think on a whole the modern broker has a good rep. I know I must have 100% of my business is word of mouth!

LOL Tom
Dan - by infighting I was referring to HRH Conrad who reckons any broker who sells protection knows nothing about protection. There nothing quite as annoying as an arrogant adviser blowing their own trumpet and assuming their knowledge is greater than everyone elses. I am not dismissing his points entirely, some are very valid, but I do wish he'd exercise a little more humility at times and stop making sweeping generalisations about the broker communityI am a Mortgage Adviser
